What are the benefits on maxing level 10 walls at town hall 9?

I am just about to start upgrading my town hall now or max my walls. People say the dark elixir is easier to farm and protect at town hall 10 (For heroes). If I were to do my walls, it would take me about 187.5 days which I don't think I have the patience to do unless I boost and can drop the time drastically. I make at about 4,000,000 gold and elixir each day. Thinking about it, the amount of gold I use on walls would be a lot more than I could use to upgrade my town hall 10 defenses. One of the main thoughts I have as a problem as going to town hall 10 is the loot penalty, so I can't get much loot on town hall 8's anymore. I want to know what you get from maxing walls at town hall 9, other than that it takes 3 max wall breakers to break through one layer of walls.

What is end game currently? Town Hall 10 with lvl 11 zap walls right? So if you stay at lvl 9 walls now, go on to TH10, you'll got 2 levels of walls to do after all your available upgrades are done. If you don't have/ don't want to muster the patience to do them now, what makes you think you'll be patient enough to do them then?

I, as well as many other experienced players, suggest maxing lvl 10 walls at TH9, while you still can farm those rich/dead TH8s for a bountiful harvest. May take a bit more time to do so, but Clash is a long term game, and the efforts you put in now will pay off in the long run.

If you're not concerned with maxing out walls at the end of your Clash of Clans adventure, then you should upgrade to TH10 now.

If I were to go to town hall 10 before finishing my walls, and then I max town hall 10 defenses and only have walls left, I will have to do my walls then. I've been a town hall 9 for over 10 months now, and I will be for much longer doing walls. I was a rushed town hall 9 with level 6 walls when I upgraded to town hall 9. I recovered from that and then maxed defense. Now I'm at the point where I don't know if I should max my walls now.

Other than for bragging rights, not much really. If you have maxed out everything else, you should just upgrade to town hall 10 so that your builders would not be idle and waste time. However, if you enjoy being a town hall 9, you might as well just stay at TH9 because at TH10, everything will not be the same. You're going to have to deal with other TH10s (during clan war) and three starring a decently made anti-3 star TH10 base is almost impossible.

Initially, I started working on lvl 10 walls because I wanted a competitive advantage in clan war, but with the heroes/walls weight increase it has given me less incentive to do so. Right now I'm only upgrading them for a sense of completion, and I think they provide very little return on investment.

For farming, the cost of lvl 10 walls is probably more than the resources you will ever protect for having lvl 10 walls instead of lvl 9 walls.

For clan war, having lvl 10 walls instead of lvl 9 walls will make your base harder to 3 star, but a well designed defensively maxed TH10 base is already very difficult to 3 star. I guess it is somewhat beneficial in the long-term because there is no telling what SC will do in the future (eg. buffing ground-related army to make 3 stars more viable), but at the current state expect drawing a few more TH10 with these walls.

For trophy push, walls don't matter much (at least in 3100 ~ 3200) because anti-1 star bases tend to have very few compartments to protect most non-defensively buildings inside the wall. I have modified a trophy base for a mediocre TH10 and he reached champion with defences; he only has purple/skull walls.

All in all, I can understand why people still want them as I'm fairly close to maxing them myself, but I can't imagine myself getting stuck at TH9 for 187 days just for these walls.

Besides bragging for a day, it makes no difference. The gold/elixir it takes is enough to max th10 offensive and defenses. In wars, i dont get 3starred and I only use legos( lvl 9 ) walls. Same with farming. I dont get my loot taken because infernoes are super strong. I went to 3000 and experience how easy DE is. I made 70,000 in a day with Barch, and I wasnt even trying. ( no boost, etc ). I would kill myself if I stay at th9 187 days with idle builders to do walls.check my sig, th10 isnt scary.

I'll just get level 9 walls and then upgrade my town hall 10. Thanks for the information!

Walls costs 90% of the entire resourse needed to end the game. If you want to end it you should max your Walls first than your buildings and proceed to the next Town Hall after they have been completed.

TH10 don't suffer any problem at farming to upgrade a X-Bow to level 4 but will suffer to upgrade 250 Walls to level 10.

You did the mistake to finish all your buildings before finishing your Walls, now go to Town Hall 10 to don't stay with useless Builders.

Your mistake to do so but now there's nothing that you can do.

I did them at th10 (well I'm doing...29 left) after maxing all the splash damage. It's up to you...for me farming at th10 I'm high leagues with maxed troops is more fun than attacking th8s so I decided to do them at 10
