Derby task points is disappointing ... Please review from Hayday Supervisor.

Hi all,
I have been addicted to hayday since derby started and my group has been a very active one in derby. Yes we love to collect the gold trophy of course and exclusive derby gifts.

However, I am very disappointed how task on derby is assigned... How could task to collect 900 wheat in certain time (317 derby points) is bigger than to finish 6 boats order (320 only derby points)....

First of of all it only took minutes to collect wheat and is so easy while for the boat is much difficult to collect items and send the boats off eventhough others will help.... It is just not making any sense... Please look into the derby points and make it a reasonable for all the people who plays...

We wants some challenges to it... Why members has to take boat task if it's not much different than to collect wheat? This is a disappointing aspect on derby... We don't mind to have easy task for lower level player but at least some adjustments on points should be to look at as some tasks are much much more difficult to be finish.

To complete 6 boats is about 24 hours period... We have to wait 4 hours to get the boat back unless we have lots of diamonds that we can throw for just bringing the boat back...

silly task ... Collect 550 carrots for 313 derby points is crazy.... Please triple the derby points for boat, truck, fishing task... They need to wait longer to restore items and the wait time compare all this crops task.

Difficulty is a relative thing.

It is impossible for me to do crop task due to time limitations, so high value makes sense. I can do town ones real quick as i always have townies ready to give prizes.

Different tasks are good for different players.

Yes, I agree...

PLUS make the points more even like. The group I m in (only two of us) always got such low pointer tasks, which doesn't seem fair. If u want to put low point ones, even it out with some tasks with higher points.

On the "glass half full" front: at least you get these tasks. My neighbourhood has been waiting for one of them since this derby started. All we've gotten is the 6 boat 320 point task. All the others are around 250. We aren't even getting the 300 point mine task anymore. Don't understand it but we continue to patiently delete tasks and hope that it will all calibrate...next derby perhaps?

:) When we are offered a variety of ways to collect 300 points, then a variety of people can play. That translates to more people being able to play. That translates to closer competition and a more exciting race. If the maximum points available per task is, say, 320 for six boats, and you want to win your derby, the best way to win is to take as many boat tasks as you can -- an incentive if you want one.

I am pleased to get those 300point crop/animal tasks back! No use tripling mining tasks, that is just the same as saying reduce the carrot task to 100 points. I wish the bigger boat tasks hadn't been zapped away like that. I like big boats and I cannot lie.

(l'd have collected bacon or milk yesterday for 300+ points, but I waited - I wanted boats. I would have like 12 boats...but...)

I can control my own timeframe on boats more easily. I have five days to fill 4 boats now -- that is not particularly harder than collecting carrots in 4 hours, or milk in 10 hours....is it? Easier, for some.

More fun, though! That is the thing. Choose whatever gives you fun. More choice of tasks means more people having fun.

I think we finally have a "horse race". It appears that SC has truly leveled the playing field of tasks. No, we aren't seeing the 300+ point tasks that we all waited (and waited and waited) for, but we aren't getting endless low point tasks either. Right now our derby board is almost full with 240-280 point tasks. There are a couple of each type and a few crops. I just trashed a 260 (approx.) mining task since there are two 270 mining tasks. I'm doing one of the new 6-boat 320-point boat tasks, as are several of my neighbors. When that is finished, I'll have a wide choice of the neck-and-neck high-200s tasks. I think this might work! Thanks for trying, SC!

EDIT: Pitchfork posted while I was writing this, and I agree that offering more tasks in a closer spread of points will make for a more exciting derby. I think what SC has done is make that range the 240-280 rather than offer lots more 300+ tasks.

So your race looks to be a closer one than last week? At the moment, ours does too. Most weeks, the biggest competition that I've noticed has been between 3rd and 4th places. But perhaps this week first and second place will be the close race.
I think it will go into a two horse race tomorrow, but I wouldn't like to bet on which of those two horses will win. At the moment, we are in 2nd place, but we are plucky like you wouldn't believe.

Addressing Viani's comments again now, and some other comments I've read in this section:

I want to add re: making some more challenging tasks with bigger points - I can get behind that idea, but not tripling or even doubling points, just increase the points by 10 or 15 - a nominal amount. Increase the challenge itself by anything you like. We take a bigger harder challenge so we can have fun and challenge ourselves, and we are rewarded with fun, and a sense of having scored the best available score, and a potential edge over the competition if it is close. No need to have tasks that reward the players with an outlandish lead. Keep the race neck-and-neck. Let's have to win by a nose, not a country mile.

Glad they brought back the high harvesting tasks. Lower leveled players now have a fighting chance to compete in the derby. But why take those juicy boat tasks away? I have yet to see anything above 320 pts.

I don't understand SC's reluctance to raise the trucks and townies task points higher. I've said this before, a task that requires u to invest scores of premiums in it should be rewarded accordingly. But nope, an easy wheating task blows them both out of the water. Don't understand the logic in that.

With this new tweak, that 5th checkpoint is once again unreachable for NHs of 2.

Well, no matter what SC do it won't suit some people :/

I'm enjoying it so much more this week because the points are much more even so you can do the tasks that fit in with your farming instead of just the high point ones to benefit the NH tally, and there are a lot more about the same value and fewer rubbish point ones so less constant trashing.

The only thing I'd say is that if the smaller NHS are unable to get the 5 horseshoe prizes then their targets need to changed, it has to be achievable for everyone, whatever size NH they choose to be in.

I am doing the town task that requires me to service the mechanic 7 times. I am not getting credited for servicing him for at least 5 of the tasks. Is this normal? Ugh

Hello, and welcome to the forum!

You need to fully-serve each mechanic; that means in all of the shops he is listed to visit. You will be credited for serving him at the point where he gives you a gift and goes to catch a train.

The easiest way to complete this task is by serving mechanics you collect from neighbours, using your personal train. Those will only need to be served in one building to be fully-served.

Because it takes only 2 minutes to grow wheat. So u can get alot of wheating done in such a short time. That's why they make it 900. I tried doing this task several times, only was able to get thru it once! A lot of wheating, selling 10 wheat for 1 coin so that people will buy it quickly. Then able to plant more. I avoid wheating now for derby. WAIT! I don't do derby anymore. I'm not in a neighborhood.

I had stopped doing boat tasks for derby back when I was doing derby. I hardly able finished the boats in time to. Because we are double timed, basically. I see that for the derby u might have, let's say, 15 hours to do boat tasks and u have to do 6. So I think, oh have time, but then boat is gone, because the time for the boat ran out.

I would also like to point out that the blue hat tasks are unfair. Each hat takes about an hour. Yet for 23 hats you allow 26 hours. Can we do an adjustment
