Lately, I've been feeling that walls are getting to be pointless, sure at earlier levels they help, but around th9-10 I think so many people are using a jump sell or 2 or just using air attacks. Plus, the lower the walls the easier the base looks and the easier the people are that attack you. Does anyone else agree... I feel like 90% of the time the queen just used a jump spell to get in range of the th. Opinions please
They make the difference between a 2 star and a 3 star attack. Pretty much anybody can get a 2 star on any base, but a 3 star is much harder due to the walls.
If you're a TH9 with TH7 walls--and you'd be surprised at how many TH9s come to war wearing only pink and purple--expect to get crushed by TH8s...!!
They make a small difference for two star raids and three star gohog/golaloon and a huge difference for three star ground raids.
I like to watch BK's beat on my walls while they're getting pummeled by my defenses
Even for Lavaloon attacks walls are vital. In wars it is often the heroes that come in and take down the Town Hall. Decent walls often make the difference between 1 or 2 stars. Maybe at lower levels with one or maybe low level heroes they may not make a massive difference at times but trust me if you neglect them early on and rush that TH you will pay the price later as a Lv 20+ Archer Queen and her husband rip through your base.
Walls matter but not nearly at their cost. So they should be a focus but not a priority...
Don't neglect them but don't disregard the rest of your base either.
It's not difficult to get to max skulls as TH8/TH9.. After that it becomes somewhat of a chore but still will help overall.
For wars they dont matter at th7/8 because you're getting hogged or dragoned every attack. At the early th9 they might not make a big difference because you're an easy 3 star no matter what. At the higher end of th9 it is huge because those walls make the difference between 2 and 3 stars even on the air/hog attacks that avoid walls...the heroes and golem part of the attack still have to get through walls somehow.
I dont have alot of experience at th10 because my main is still th9 but from what I have seen walls are even more important at that level.
Yeah i think they do mather, it may be long to upgrade i know the feeling but i think its a good idea to upgrade them. For sure you upgrade your defenses and other buildings and if you have enough gold over to upgrade them go ahead. Maybe a lot of people use jump spells but if they dont have one or they dont have a strong enough wall breakers you can pretty much kill a lot of troops just because they cant get into your base. Everyone has his own opinion but i think its important. :)
