New Clan Recruitment Tool
Hi Clashers,
NF2335 has a great thread on a search function so clan leaders can better recruit new members (http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...lanless-Search). My idea is not as elegant and maybe not as practical as his. But it may be a decent alternative.
There have been many times in war where we see a player in the opposing clan we would love to invite to our clan. And often, it is apparent they are in a bad clan or one that doesn't suit them. And usually we see that player leave the opposing clan after finishing their second attack. We could try to enter the other clan in an effort to pock that player, but we feel that is rude and inappropriate. My idea would provide an appropriate avenue to recruit players you happen upon during normal gameplay.
With the addition of player tags I'm sure Supercell has something coming to allow for better recruiting. I was thinking these tags could be used to bookmark players for a limited amount of time.
Here's how it would work:
All Clashers would have a player bookmark tab where you could bookmark up to, say, 50 other players. Unlike bookmarking a clan, these player bookmarks expire after, say, 30 days. However, if I bookmark a player and they bookmark me the bookmark becomes permanent.
If a player you have bookmarked leaves their current clan you receive an email telling you they are clanless which gives you the opportunity to invite them to your clan.
One benefit to allowing a permanent bookmark link between players is it would allow clans to remain closed (avoiding war spies) and have the freedom to allow some members to come and go. We have a few players who spend a month or so with us and then visit friends for a week and then return to us. With our war record and clan level we have seen an increase in requests from people we do not want to accept. So we keep the clan closed now. Coordinating with our members who are visiting old friends is becoming increasingly difficult. This would help with that.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Is this a good idea or have I just not it through enough?
