Should something be done about zappers?

As much as the logic seems to suggest that a countermeasure should be added, it would be very hard to balance. Implementation method of course would be highly critical, but I've yet to find a good way to specifically counter lightening spells in a way that does not adversely effect other aspects of the game.

The closest I got was a more generic aimed defense-awarded bonus for certain kinds of wins and losses the village had. Since Zapping is consisted a win, it gives one kind of bonus, and because a good amount of loot was taken, it gives another kind. It's in a defence related thread I made, so I'm not going to retype it or go into detail. Net effect in-game is the village is a bit harder to raid for a short while, and likely is able to temporarily train troops a bit faster. Each time a zapper hits, because of how it falls into things with the idea I made, would yield less and less, per attack, to a limiting cap. (Note: the exact same effect would happen if there were many looting raids that failed to score, but got loot as well, so it isn't specifically an anti-zapper idea, but it would effect them)

Why are lightning rods ALWAYS MENTIONED?
It "supposedly" protects DE, but consider the side effects....

• You can't lightning CC troops reliably
• You can lightning air defense/mortar/defenses reliably
• Make farming even more common

If you say that the DE storage should be unaffected, then they would have to stop it from affecting townhalls, storages, and collectors, because they all hold resources...

How about a 49% raid? It may have been 50% if lightning worked on the heavily damaged DE storage.

Basically you are asking to keep raiding resources without anyone able to get it back.

The lightning spell role isn't going to change. It does damage. When a storage takes damage, it loses resources. That is how the game works.

Actually had 2 guys zap my elixir storage 2 days ago, lightning spells cost more than they got.
I got a lot more loot from them in revenge which is best pay back for zappers

Its like teslas around a th on the outside, you may not like it and think it's bush, but it's part of the game.

You could even carry around lightni g and if you get zapped at a th, you can zap back the de:D

No really! Joking tone aside, I have honestly thought that what's-her-name-village-helper should step in on the first few devastating raids on the village and give the player some prospective on things.

Zapping is life. I dont care if people zap my DE cuz ill zap them. If you think im a noob then you can f*** off

Just saw this linked in another thread.

I notice that almost EVERYONE voted incorrectly. The only correct answer is, "Yes" as the question was "CAN something be done to remove zappers"

But yeah, something shouldn't be done about them, but many things within the realm of possibilities could be done.

Wow, I feel like I'm being attacked from every angle from people saying zapping is part of the game. That was the first statement I had said, zapping is a part of the game and is fine...I simply agreed with other threads that some type of counter measure could be implemented against the lightning spells. In previous posts I thought the idea of a hidden lightning rod that sprung out of the ground was a great idea. You could place it anywhere on your map, most will likely place them by there DE storage, personally I think it would be great to try and guess what corner your CC troops will be taken to and get zapped and place it there. You have a 1 in 4 chance to guess correctly and the rod can only be used once just like any bomb/spring trap.

Everyone complained about dragon/balloon attacks being to strong and now we have an air sweeper.

I just think something that will make attackers think twice before dropping their lightning is a good thing. After all, this is still a game about strategy is it not.

i zap daily. only on revenge though. ecspecially if its a th9 that picks on us th8s

Where is the like button? Revenge zapping is the best. It's hard enough for a TH8 to acquire enough DE to max dark troops with us TH9s coming by and crushing your bases for it. However I choose to never simply zap someones DE without launching a full attack to at least give them a shield.

It gets old when you get paid a visit from several of these zappers throughout the night each taking 1,000 or more DE each and not leaving you with a shield.

However there are those of us with our ethics and those without. The ones without are on the revenge list!
