Went to purchase candle maker, started to place on the farm and touched a completed item. The item, carrot juice, was collected (not intended) candle maker disappeared (not intended) and coin account charged for candle maker (definitely not intended)!

Are you sure you didn't drop it somewhere by mistake (amongst a bunch of trees or behind your house, for example)? If you are sure, the best thing to do would be submit an in-game help ticket and they will be able to check your game logs and hopefully get you the item back.
I'm sure you already did this, but just in case, did you check to see if it is in your inventory? Though it sounds a lot like the bug where decorations go missing.
Inventory did show it. Found it hidden at the very top left part of the farm next to the river. Had it not been for the white "wrapping" it would have gone unnoticed.Quote:
