Dark Drill level 4 for th8

This problem is part economics and part psychological.

If you make it too rare and access is sporadic, you will have people hord it and not spend them on troops.

If you make it too common, it ruins the value and purpose of an intentionally rare resource.

What you have to do is find a happy middle, and people have based careers off of attempting to solve this kind of problem (based on real life resources and products). If it is not too rare, then Ironicly more is spent, and keeps it from being too abundant.

Right now, I'm enjoying my surplus of DE, since hording and revenge attacking to recover losses (or gain a profit) and the occasional raid nets a good amount, has given me a max level King, and most of the Dark Barracks troops at max level. Now that I can't dump a huge amount into something anymore on a regular basis, I now feel like it is worth it to use Dark Barrack troops! Before, rarely touched them, since I didn't feel I'd get my 'money's worth' out of them back then. DE was just 'too awesome to use' before on expendable things (like troops), when it was really rare for me.

I know...seriously? I had to deal with none at TH7 and 1 measly level 3 drill at TH8. If anything, it's the TH9s that need to make more given the huge amount of DE that TH9s need both for upgrades and for war.


DE upgrades at TH7: 105k
Level 3 drill makes 1080/day = roughly 100 days of drill time.

DE upgrades at TH8: 382.5k
2 Level 3 drills = 2160/day = 177 days of drill time.

DE upgrades at TH9: 505k for the troop upgrades + 347.5 just to get the archer queen to level 10
2 level 6 drills = 4800/day = that's 177 days of max drill time right there, and you still have another 20 levels on each hero! That's roughly another 4 million DE, or a staggering 27 more months of drill time with 2 max drills!


Next time I hear a TH8 whining about needing to be able to produce more DE, I swear...

None taken - but I think you have missed my point one drill at TH7 is actually very negligible look at the production rates, add in the cap for higher town halls that need more DE it adds very little to the economy - what it does however do is help out/encourage TH7s who wish to max their king and get a couple of dark troop upgrades. Therefore the rareity is unchanged really except for the TH7 level where it makes certain goals more obtainable.

I like this idea because ...

1. It gives more options to spend elixir at TH8.
2. It lengthens the time before the drill "fills" from 12 hours to 14 hours.

That's why you have town hall 9, you can have 2 frickin' max level drills there. Loot is great also. If you want level 4 drills then you need to upgrade, Supercell won't change this for sure.
