how to deal with TH10 as a TH9

Hello, i would like to ask some of you players who propably see mismatches also in the current wars how to 2 star a TH10 as a TH9.
We got a match against a clan who had 6 TH10 against our 1 TH10. Almost same amount of TH9 i think we had 1 more th9 than them.

So. As you see from this board we could 3 star all their TH 8 and TH 9. We threw mass dragons, gowiwi, gowipe, golaloon, laloon and various hyprids against their th10. Resulting in 1 stars.


Is there anything a th9 can do against lvl 2 and 3 infernos?

And have others experienced a matchmake like this?

I've had some success recently as a th9 attacking th10s in war.
I can't see your pictures, so I'll just speak from experience.

The best results I've had so far are with Giants.
Seriously, don't laugh.

Especially if infernos are set to single.

I've basically been bringing a GiWiPe. Replacing golems with Giants.

Throw out your heal spells, they're useless.

2 rage, 1 jump, 1 zap (if you know what's in CC, if you don't know, bring extra rage.)

Obviously this is a get to the townhall as quickly as possible type raid.

And it's resulted in some pretty clutch 50% 2 stars for my clan.

8-10wallbreakers
18 wizards
2 pekkas
rest giants.
lvl7 giants in your CC if you can get them.


heroes are essential, obviously. mine are 12/13

I have been a TH10 for about a month, but stayed as a Max TH9 whilst working on walls (227 lavas) and upgrading Hero's. Currently (25/21)

As a TH9 I got many 2 stars against TH10's, TH9's attacking TH10's was encouraged and is part of our regular fun upside down war. It's great development.

Obviously, inferno's need treating differently according to multi / single, but don't be scared of inferno's, multi inferno's don't do huge damage per second.

How to attack depends completely on the design of the base you are attacking, it is essential as a TH9 to very carefully tailor your attack to the base. Don't expect to 2 star a TH10, by taking your regular war army. Like 3 staring a TH9, you must learn to analyse the base and exploit weaknesses.

If you are going in with a ground attack, lure the CC first, even if this uses 4-5 loons, the last think you want is your Pekkas going after skeletons whilst being fried by Teslas in the core. Ideally your lure loons would take out 1-2 defensive units, and provide a safe place to kill the CC with Witches, which will follow into your main attack.

For Multi inferno's Ideally you want to get 3-5 high hit point units (Golems, pekka, king) into the core for the inferno to lock onto, with some serious fire power raged behind. I don't use many pekkas, i prefer more Golems, sometimes with giants/valks behind, depending on possible spring trap locations.

For singles, there are several strategies, Giants, lots of witches, loons, hogs even !

Hero's are key to TH10 attacks, it is likely they will take out the inferno's and the TH unless you are using Pekkas, you need to get them to the core, close behind the tanks.

If you can take a Pekka 5 in your CC, then go for it, I am not convinced about using Pekka 3's against TH10's, they don't cut it for me, I certainly wouldn't take too many in. try replacing with Valks, again does depend on the base.

Lastly, save a few archers to clear the odd building at the end. Getting the town hall is one thing, but 50% isn't a given. Nothing more frustrating than getting a good hit into the core taking the TH and ending up with 49%

That looked like a tough match and a high scoring war, lots of TH9 3 stars. Well done, you put up a good fight and got a very respectable score.

Thank you for your input. The giant idea was new to me and i will give it a go.

I came close to 2 star a th10 with gowiwi. Cc lure. Kill with raged wiz at entry. But the multipoint infernos just overwhealmed my troops at the last second.

As we saw this matchup it was bad for morale but we decided to go in guns blazing and not back down. We won the war but now as of late the matchups have been really off. Tons of th10 with high infernos but only purple walls being set up against our lego wall th9 guys. Its horrible for morale in the long run as we keep throwing our troops into hellfire

I am using 4 golems if infernos are set to multiple targets. 2 golems and giants if they are single. If they have both setup I take the giants but attack the single target first. Attack one inferno using jump spell to send the golems in. The cv star is fairly easy for the 50% I take some archer/minions to help at the end.

Giants can be pretty beast in war when they are level 6+ if used well. I got 2 starred by another th9 and he used giwipe pretty much. Had level 6 giants and most of them survived the entire attack. Fortunately his funnelling sucked and all his DPS strayed from his giants, so he missed the 3 star. But I was impressed regardless. I never really saw giants as a big war unit for th8+.

How do I watch your replays? I'm interested to see some of the successes and learn from them. I've never seen another clans replays before so I have no idea how.

get invited/apply to his clan, and watch as a spectator :thumbsup::cool: if you get in, you can view the log from previous war if available.. dern maintenance wiping useful replays mid War.... ♥♥♥♥ me right off! lolzXD
