Valid quote reference there bud thank you. Apparently champion league has been a big problem for a long time, with trophy calculations an issue. Given that there have been a lot of knock-on effects of other game changes, it is possible that a change in code somewhere has affected things slightly.
I think basic mathematics is the problem with champions league. It has the highest trophy spread of all leagues (anything 3600 upwards is it?) and it still uses the same extremes of formula calculation for trophies and matchmaking that were designed for a much lower mean figure and playfield. At either end of the scale furthest from the Middle, the calculations will only have a super fine tolerance before they 'break' so to speak and the formula tops or bottoms out. If you've ever headed down to sub-200 you'll know what I mean.... Can you imagine what it's like going up further from the average to nearly 5000?
It really is about time they rethought the whole trophy and ranking system, or create more solid lines between leagues, with more of them and different formulas for each.
