Stop buying Gems until Supercell fixes AQ & BK upgrades for CW

This is something that really bugs me! Its obvious by now that Supercell are not fixing that the AQ and BK aren't available in Clan War when they are upgrading because they get people Gem their heroes to be ready for war..

This makes them more money! :p:p

So I say enough of this! Time that they stopped being so greedy and actually provide us with a fair service..

I move that everyone should stop buying Gems until they fix this!!!

After all, who wants a company to be in business to make money. Amiright?

The whole game is set up to get you to spend money. Have you seen how expensive walls are? Or spending 15 days to get 1 building upgraded? I'm surprised they haven't just put their balls on the table and made it so 500 gems = instant 3 star.

You should actually offer a solution in this thread, and luckily there's a really good idea from a fellow former in my signature. (Click on the "Hero Pause Feature"). If you like it, you can add support to that one rather than just making a complaint with no solution whatsoever.

The solution is make AQ & BK available in CW even when they are upgrading, like defensive structures..

I would have thought that was obvious??? Really obvious...

SuperCell have tried to program that apparently, and it wouldn't work.

Defenses work because they are part of an inactive defensive base.

Heroes however are part of an active offensive base which required separate programming SuperCell have not been able to resolve.

Are you serious? They can program this whole game across various platforms, countries, languages, adding content often, yet you actually believe they cant fix this hero issue after 12months +?

They also got money from walls but made it 2x easier to do because thats what people wanted, it's what helped the game. Until you provide a valid solution on how to make heroes usable while upgrading during war without being available for farming, I don't see your arguement

Its an issue because if you're in a War Clan that that Wars all the time you have to sit the war out... Just waiting for hero.. Cant earn stars or Xp for your clan.. Thats the issue..

No problem waiting for the upgrade, thats fair enough, the issue is the unavailability of Hero's which basically gimp you for Clan War...

I dont think asking for Heros to be available for Clan War when they are pushing the add on so hard is too much to ask myself...

They have said they will fix it, but they havent, and its been at least 12 months.. So why arent they? becaue they want more $$.. That sucks..

Not impossible.. And after a year probably should have been done..

It's not broken, it was designed this was, so the there is nothing to fix. You are requesting a change in a game SC designed.

Sounds like ♥♥, some of Anoushka's response. Sure there might be some technical things that make it not an instant change in a couple minutes. But is it really harder than making clan levels, adding new defenses, adding new troops, reworking some AIs, making clan wars, or any of those other things that tend to come in updates? My guess is that they're just waiting for someone to have an idea they like that lets heroes be useable in war without reducing profits. That would make sense and I'd be totally cool if they just said that if that's the case. But saying it's not happening because of technical difficulties?

I don't see what's wrong with requesting changes in a game. That's how very, very many things work. The game isn't finished or perfect. New updates bring things that players have requested because it made the game more enjoyable for them, as well as other new stuff.

Supercell basically has two groups of people they need to satisfy. One obviously is its paying customers. By paying customers, I meant the people who spend cold hard cash to buy gems. The other group is its investors. Those investors, ie: Softbank, look very closely at Supercell's financials and Supercell has to be very careful with everything they do that affect gem sales (company revenue). People can cry as much as they want but Supercell's priority will always be its investors and paying customers than the general public....

Unlike most freemium games out there, Supercell is generous enough to give EVERY single player gems from gem box and obstacles....

Nothing in this world is free. You want something you got to pay for it whether it is money or time...

I like those gems, sure, but everything has a purpose. I wouldn't necessarily say that's generosity, probably intended as a psychological way of earning more profits from people (did I say that right?). A likely intended result to me would be by letting players earn small amounts of gems from obstacles, they can then use those and see how useful and nice they are to have, giving them an incentive to buy more. As for large numbers from achievements, that gives players a big incentive to continue logging on and playing the game.

It's a simple set of rules for Clan Wars:

1) Defensively, everything is working (as if you just found a solid defensive base in normal search. No defenses upgrading, heroes are awake, CC is full).

2) Offensively, you bring with you what you normally can in a normal raid. (if your SF or heroes are down for normal raiding, then the same for CW)

If you feel gimped without your heroes then skip the war, war without them, or gem them. Same scenario as normal raiding.

This, now get lost. I suppose you still haven't played a game where everything is exclusive to the money users?? If you havent, please do, so you could differentiate SC from other companies, SC is generous

I don't think they should. You should have to buy gems or sit wars out/learn to war without them by attacking lower. People are to entitled in this game it shouldn't be completely free certain things should have to be paid for. I always gem hero build time and will continue to do so because I don't like not having them.

If SC wanted it done badly enough, they would find a way to make this work. I refuse to believe that they truly can't find a way to do this in an economical way. I feel like this is in the same camp as loot changes have been in the past. They CAN do it, they are very reluctant to do so (for good reason from their perspective), but they eventually will when pressure on them raises to a level where they must act. I think it will be done eventually, and the best thing that we can do is keep asking for it, provide alternative ideas/compromises, and making strong arguments about why it's needed.

Come on, get real. How often have you contiplated gemming walls? That thought has never crossed my mind. Maybe a handful of top level guys gemming zap walls just to be finished with it but i doubt theres as many doing that versus gemming heroes early for war.

Yeah, I believe that.

Seems like SC tried one way, decided it was too difficult at the time due to other priorities and put it on the back-burner.

If we keep pushing the case and provide sensible solutions we may finally get some action.

We can’t provide solutions. This thread is not about solutions, it’s about a change in game play. All these threads achieve, is to serve notice on SC that portion of users want change. Please don’t mislead the forum by suggesting otherwise.

Anyone that thinks they know a solution either works or recently worked for SC (to have legimate access to corporate knowledge), has reversed engineered major parts of the game and/or broken into the games-servers (to have illicit access to corporare knowledge) or is deluded (in most cases by their limited knowledge from school assigments).

If you think it’s easy to change a working system, explain why the recent update allowing name changes failed miserably for so many users. And don’t blame incompetance.

A number of Android users were locked out after the air sweeper update because the app couldn’t cope with certain characters or emoji in clan chat, clan description or clan mail.

There are some quite lengthy threads that discuss it. A seemingly “simple” change with far reaching effects.

Oh that, ok. Thought you were specifically referring to changing names. Yeah, that was bad, but most updates don't go badly like that. They've had many updates, they all end up working out whether they've got small problems or big ones. I don't see why changing the way hero upgrading works would be any different of a challenge than all the other things they've done.

My point is no matter how simple a change might appear to the end-user, the back end story is never simple. No matter how much testing is performed, it’s impossible to test every scenario in a game emraced by so many people in such diverse situations.

I agree most updates go smoothly. We never know how much work is involved but we have to assume it is substantial.
I also agree that changes to upgrading heroes is no different to many other changes SC have implemented.

However, threads that discuss using upgrading heroes (or any change in game) are fine as long as posts stick to game play and don’t wander into technical territory requiring a depth of background information the author can’t possibly possess.

Now hold on... Why should upgrading heroes not be available for farming? I upgrade my archers and I still use them; likewise my barbarians, wizards, and any other troop as a matter of fact. Heroes should be no different. Upgrading heroes should be usable in both war AND farming, just like any other troop!

This is the basis for most people’s misunderstanding of the hero upgrading issue.

At the moment you upgrade a troop’s skill/capability by researching in the lab.
During a hero upgrade, you are using a builder to upgrade the altar.

These are totally different actions with entirely different results and have entirely different effects in game-play.

Why are heroes unavailable for CW attacks ?
As with all buildings, the altar is available at it’s pre-upgrade level in CW base, but not available in your village. Your village is the place your defend in multiplayer, source your army for multiplayer attacks and source your army for CW attacks.


Whether it’s the best for game play is not the issue and SC dependence on gem sales is not the issue either.

The issue is that heroes depend on buildings to function and the buildings in your CW base and the buildings in your village are different entities.

What about making them work like clan castles? They're both offensive and defensive, just like heroes. You can always use them during farming and war while they're upgrading.
