Looking to Balloon/Dragon attack a mid-range TH8 with Level 3 Dragons and Level 5 Balloons (no L6 in my Clan). How many balloons should I carry with me?
If the balloons can easily take out an air defense before deploying dragons, use the next multiple of 4 above the number needed. Otherwise, use mass drags.
Zero.............
Use only baloons and minions for clean up, and full heall spels.
But first lure out CC troops and clean all.
If dragon is in enemy CC and you didnt clean it... well baloon attack will be not usefull... zero stars.
Skip the balloons and just use mass dragons. You shouldn't have any problems against a mid TH8 when using lvl 3 dragons.
Balloons aren't particularly useful until they hit lvl 6.
Just an update, I was able to 3 star the base with 9 L3 dragons (1 in the CC) and 8 L5 Balloons and 3 L4 rage spells. The timing had to be perfect for balloon deployment, but thanks to the advice above and a helpful YouTube video, the attack was a success!Quote:

I always think its a good idea to pack 4-8 balloons with mass drag. It sucks you don't have access to level 6 tho....but drags can seem dumb....balloons help take out AD's that drags sometimes seem to avoid
Use mass dragons and ask for level 6 balloons in your cc.
