I don't remember this being a problem before,maybe I have just moved up levels and am playing against harder bases, but I am losing a lot of loons to red air bombs. I just had 29 loons clump together on a raid and there must have been two air bombs together and within about half a second they were all completely dead.
what can I do to prevent this?
Get max level balloons and bring a heal spell. 4 red air bombs will take out a group no matter what. Spread your balloons out more, 2 without rage can one hit most buildings.
Never spam your balloons in 1 spot. You don't need all 29 balloons in 1 spot.
Deploy a line of balloons along one side or in an L-shape to get 2 sides. Drop only 1-2 balloons per tower. Save the rest of the balloons, if you have cleared one side for looting. If you need more, drop only enough balloons to take out the towers on that side.
You may end up only using 15-20 balloons for most bases. If you need 29 balloons for every raid, you need to click next more and be more selective.
Somebody just wrecked my TH9 with only 20 balloons, yesterday.
Donīt deploy all loons at one spot!
In my village is also a double-Air bomb(nearly at that place which is attractive for a balloonion raid) and once in a while somone who tries it with balloonion fails dramatically.
2 lv 3 Air-Bombs can kill a huge group Lv 4 loons and 3 lv 3 Air Bombs a lv 5 loon-group easily.
Non maxed baloons are preaty vunerable...
Use giants to keep busy towers and then right behind drop 2-3 baloons per tower... and minions behind to clean all up...
That way air bombs will triger on 2-3 baloons and minions could continue and clean all.
I think nobody of you realized the real problem.
Loons don't defend themselves against the red air bombs (cause it's air defense). So the air bombs walk arround to kill every loon and the loons aren't fast enough to get 100%.
It's not the matter "of deploying the loons at one spot or not" or all the other stuff you thought it was helpful.
So, any idea?

Once the bomb explodes, the bomb is exploded, nothing there to walk around(except the red ballon where the bomb is hanging on perhaps?)
The only thing is, that the Air bomb makes Splash-damage with a circle of 3 tiles. All Air-troops within those circle with a 3-tiles diameter get damaged by the bomb.
If you deploy all loons in one spot and all your loons are concentrated on one spot, 2 of those Red Air bombs can destroy a whole Lv 4 loon group.
If the loons are spread over a greater range, the Air Bombs are not able to hurt more than a few loons...
EDIT: Aah, I think I got it now! You donīt mean the Air Bombs, but the Skelleton-traps which are set to Air?? The skelletons hanging on a red ballon fighting with a sword? If thatīs your problem, deploy a few minions behind the loons, they will attack the skelletons...

To fight the skellies I think there are 3 possibillities:
Some Minions behind the loons(is anyway a good thing for clearing up and extra damage, also they fight CC-troops)
A Dragon in front of the loons, he can act as a shield against the Air-Defense and also attacks the skelletons.
Archers/Wizards behind the Loons. But if the Loons are inside the village already, the archers/wizards also have to come inside the village first...
i have lvl 5 loons doesnt happen too me
