I want to use the Hog Rider unit but I am stumped as to how to do it effectively. I've done a few practice raids and I don't really want to do the 100% hog rider because I only got 1 dark barracks and they take pretty long to train. I want to use like 6-7 of them.
What I notice so far is they are not giants. Healers don't seem to do them alot of good. Though a healing spell and rage seems to give them a good boost
Finding a unit that works well with them is hard... since they are the only ground unit that ignores walls
What I've Tried
15 giants
50 archers
10 wb
1 healer
6 - hog riders (give or take other units)
-I got hit hard with traps so... it was a flop for seeing how it worked
Then I tried
4 giants
46 (or so) archers
1 healer
10 hog riders
2 dragons
10 wb (I already had trained them)
-This worked okay, but the healer just stayed with my decoy giants as the riders rushed on. I got a good amount of resources but it wasn't spectacular.
What I want to try is
10 wizards (40)
15 hog riders (90)
1 healer (14)
4 giants (20)
1 dragon
14 archers or 7 wb(?)
My thoughts are that the giants come in to distract. Then wizards clean up the perimeter. If possible take out wizard towers or AA. Then deploy the riders. If the AA gets take down deploy the healer for the wizards and the dragon. Extra archers can lure out CC troops or pick off outside buildings.
My Thoughts
-The wizards have high enough attack that walls won't stop them for long. And without them the riders just waste time hitting what doesn't require them to leap over the wall anyway.
-Giants are just for the beginning, a distraction
-Healer can keep the wizards going.
-Dragon can do serious damage if a critical AA is taken out, and of course a dragon cares not about walls
Concerns
Are 10 riders enough?, will the healer waste time like in my second try? Should i just forget the healer and just get another dragon or try and get more riders?
Anywho. I like Mr. T but their are very few videos were a person is using them in a coordinated attack, not just having fun with their new unit.
