New update - Trophies, raiding, loot. problems and solutions
Alright lets get this baby started. Reading the forums and playing the game it has become clear that the game dynamics have changed, personally i think they have changed for the better. However there are some fundamental problems with the change that will not get the desired result that Supercel is trying to achieve. I believe the purpose of this update was to try and get players to move to their appropriate leagues and find players of equivalent strength to crush.
There are a few problems with that:
1) the fact that you can find TH 1 below and 1 above doesn't create an even playing field anyways. Even before the update i would only attack THs that were 1 below (but not lower) due to the loot penalty and i am sure this was the case with most players. whats the point of wasting your army for half the loot or less.
2) There is a significant incentive for every player to move down into the silver or lower leagues, and not because they want to pick on the weak, but because it is a lot easier to find inactive players who can yield easily 400k of each resource etc. All of these dead accounts floating in Silver or lower are easy pickings and they will always stay there (as far as i know) so why struggle for resources up top when you can easily find everything you need at the bottom. While this will not apply to strong TH10s cause at the top in masters/champions the loot is still very good and they can get that bonus, however everyone else starting from undeveloped TH10s and lower will move down to the lower leagues. The ability to get loot so fast also undermines collectors, whats the point of getting this passive loot if you can do one raid in silver and easily get 3 days worth of resources that would be generated by collectors.
Solution -
There is one simple solution (there could be others) but i think this is the simplest one and probably wouldn't be too difficult to code. Supercel needs to make leagues more relevant where players actually benefit a lot more from moving up and i am not talking about increasing the bonuses. Here is my system explained.
Each league should be meant for a certain level of player and if stronger players want to be in that league they will suffer a loot penalty even if attacking others of similar strength, now that they won't find anyone that is 1 TH lower anyways it is easy picking and a lot fewer "next" pushes. if you look at the chart below you will see what i mean. if you are TH8 hiding in bronze 3 then when you raid and attack another TH8 in the same league you will get a 60% penalty from loot. So now you don't have a reason to really be in that league unless you are an extremely passive player who doesn't really raid. I think this will make leagues more relevant and will give an incentive to players to actually push up to their appropriate leagues rather then feed at the bottom. The chart can always be reworked but ultimately the purpose of this thread is to address the broken trophy system currently in place. This penalty will be on top of the TH differential penalty i.e. TH10 attacking TH9 in Crystal 3 would create the following results TH9 has 200k of each loot available (200,000*90% (TH level differential)*(80% league penalty)= 144,000 loot if each resource.
