New Troop Idea - LEVIATHAN
The Leviathan is a unique unit that can only be placed in the water, once placed, it moves onto the sand and begins attacking, it does not move further into land, but only left and right. It is a tank/support troop, used as a first wave, carving path type troop.
It attacks by shooting high pressure beams of water from its mouth in a single straight line, 1 tile wide, with a length of up to say 15 tiles. The water beams have a piercing effect and can be used to damage buildings and walls in a line. It cannot attack air units.
Useful troop strategies would include being used with either Goblins, to get in further behind enemy lines to get the gold and elixir storages. Giants, to help forge pathways so that inner walls do not slow them down. Advances strategies would include being used to create pathways for Goblins and Giants from inside enemy 'egg' bases, or maybe, if you are lucky and the Leviathan is positioned correctly, it can be used to destroy town halls that are within its range. Essentially the Leviathan can be used as a first wave troop for your raids or as a sniper.
The Leviathan can only attack from one direction, so to protect yourself against attacks from the Leviathan, you could simply move your base further away from the water, this will stop the water beams from piercing too far into your base. Don't line your buildings up in such a way that the Leviathan can make full use of its attacks. You could place a clan castle near the water so that it triggers the reinforcements once it is placed and will be destroyed easily, (but then it leaves your base kind of defenceless) You could have your base directly next to the water and have your base defences take care of it (but that means the Leviathan can make the most of its piercing attacks).
During war attacks, it can only be placed in the same place the water would usually be, but perhaps as an easter egg, the Leviathan is red and shoots lava beams instead.
Hope you like the idea, would be very happy to receive comments and read your thoughts. Thankyou.
