Trophy Ranking not making sense

There's a problem with the trophy ranking. It does not make much sense unless you're a top-rank player. There are low farmers, TH snipers... So you cannot compare with your friends or other players and I miss that competition. It should be everyone's goal to have the best possible ranking. When you finally achieve a better league or your best trophy record, you actually don't give a damn, you could have done the same simply TH sniping : no fun in it. So, this trophy score could be a goal, something you really care about, a number summing up your progression and skill in the game. Well, the only things left for comparison are the levels of your buildings and troops. So sad :-(

Trophies has lost its value, hence they added league bonus. But it's still not solve the problem

I have a GREAT idea! Since you hate the trophy matchmaking so much, how about YOU code a new matchmaking algorithm that all 10,000,000+ players will agree with! I can't WAIT to read and review your math!

I'm not complaining about the matchmaking algorithm. I'm complaining about the trophy ranking which is biased. I would like to be able to compare to other players. Am I good in building my village (my defense) and attacking ? I'd like to compare to other players with the same TH for instance. BTW, leagues could be based first on TH level. What do you think ?

It's not biased...it never had much meaning though since you can artificially lower your trophies, and many people do because they care less about that than being able to raid faster with cheaper armies so they can make more loot.


It does show a list of your friends if you're connected through google+ or FB. Better than a league list I think would be a list of players at your TH level that have the most trophies, possibly with bonuses at the end of the season like they have for top players. I've said for a long time that's what this game is missing...any real meaningful competition for lower level players.

As far as the trophy system, they've already made it less advantageous to drop trophies with the new matchmaking system, and before that they beefed up the league bonuses to encourage more players to stay higher. Anything more though would completely change the game, as they'd likely have to basically fix it so you don't lose trophies for losing a battle (or some other way to prevent dropping troops on a base), or perhaps get rid of the shield for TH, and make it strictly based on percentage.
