Revenge--what's the point??

You'd be the first person I've seen say that they like the revenge buttons as they are! XD Which isn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong. Just everyone that is vocal about it complain about that. Nice to see something different for once in reviews.

I totally agree with the revenge is pointless and nobody in my 3 clans uses it.

revenge search, same as normal search, but free and cycles through your available revenge targets, revenge revamped and more enjoyable

My researched Dark Barracks troops, and Max level King would 'beg' to differ on that.

I feel so bad for my targets sometimes. I wish I had a way to warn them about who they are messing with, since Revenge is thought to be useless. Sure I'm not perfect, or the best at revenge, but I'm one of the few that you will very likely wish you hadn't attacked (4:5 odds of being another one I revenge effectively isn't exactly worth the effort if the attacker knew). I don't obsessively watch my targets, but I keep tabs on them... waiting... seeing how much loot you gather up, seeing what you are upgrading, and even see how long you have likely been away from your village and how long your Shield will likely last. Looting your farming base only makes it that much more satisfying for me, knowing that your Shield generating layout failed you when you needed it the most... because I knew when you needed that Shield the most. You'll likely just be another satisfying tally mark, one of many I've made since I started my revenge hobby. So many, there names are quickly forgotten once they fall off the defence log.

Another idea:
Use the scrolling system from Clan Wars for revenge.
You can "Visit" a player from your defense list, and have Next, Attack(Revenge) and Previous buttons at the bottom. Next and Previous to the players on your Defense log list. Attack (revenge) is only available when you can attack them (Eg. Greyed out when they are online or shielded). Also add the prompt that displays available troops to confirm the attack (like clan war). Additional information can be added like the resources and trophies they looted, resources you can loot (Like in matchmaking).

:facepalm: The ruled out ideas part is NEVER outdated. If you see your idea(s) in the ruled out list, it's TOTALLY Ruled Out. The name-changing idea was the ONLY thing they changed in the section of the thread. They do not change the others when they remove one from the list. :facepalm:

Revenging is just to show those people that had attacked you to not to mess with you. Winning revenge-attacks do not give you League Bonuses. Revenging is just the same with normal attacks except that revenges do not reward you with League Bonuses.

The revenge system is honestly quite useless, you BARELY ever get revenge on that maxed out base about to go to the next th when they have full loot. Because they constantly stay online. In order to fix this they need to lower the only time to like 30 mins and then you have to refresh and give us some sign that we can attack their base. Maybe not user is offline, has no shield etc.

Uhm I think you should check again RULED OUT means SC has taken the idea under consideration only they wont implenment them for the time being until they find a valid reason to do so

This was raised on another thread and this was my answer/suggestion to the revenge issue:

Revenge is a problem brought about primarily by two things:

TH - Free Shield thingy - no solution as yet provided for a suitable alternative and online indicators are ruled out
Multiple raids - Every player in order to accumulate enough resources needs to raid multiple times, thus leading to multiple players wanting revenge on the same attacker.

It is doubtful that the above two will be resolved because they are by nature a part of the game - therefore it is doubtful that the revenge feature will be resolved by tackling the above two issues.

My idea would be along the lines that the attacker could be revenged at any time but only lose trophies, instead of loot being lost - it would have nothing to do with original loot or shields etc. Instead there would be an arbitrary revenge bonus similar to a clan war win bonus but along the lines of how much the player actually has currently in their storage. (effectively it's a mirror base). However this could mean trophy pushing would be harder unless the trophies lost were only a couple of cups.
