1 person clan disband

What if I don't really want a clan, I just want to have a cool shield and clan name that hopefully makes other players think twice about attacking me because they're not sure what sort of nightmare will pop out of my clan castle.


If all these tiny clans really did create an issue with server space, Supercell would do something about them. Otherwise I don't see how it's a problem. You think all these tiny clans will now want to join your larger clan and be good members? Sounds to me like you're looking for an excuse as to why your clan isn't better when you should be out recruiting.

I've never once, in regular raiding, cared whether or not troops come out of their CC. Most people don't hold troops for regular defenses, at least not the ones I raid.

I rarely request for troops unless its for a war attack. The only times I request troops for normal defense is if I have way too much loot. Other then that, I usually run day by day without troops in my CC.

You are talking about games where a clan serves as a functioning unit in an interaction with other clans. SC has addressed this by requiring a minimum of 10 people to particpate in a CW, currently the only way for clans to interact in CoC.

As there is no way for an individual to associate, function or interact with another person without being in a clan (other than Global chat), at some point there has to be single person clans. How long that single person clan stays single depends on it’s purpose (eg place-holder, war clan etc) or success at purpose (ie recruiting). The whole nature of Village vs Clan would to change before a minimum clan size requirement could be implemented. Kind of a motherhood statement but nonetheless correct.

I'm not sure how what you do is relevant here. I'm saying there are some people who DO create clans just because they want a cool name/shield, and/or to make people think their cc might be full.

I dont think disbanding is the way to go, I think a petition to create a clan should be made, where you need to get 10 members together so you can start a clan, and then once the clan is made its permanent

Although I am on the side that thinks this is not a big issue requiring emergency attention I will suggest (repost from what I said earlier in the thread) a way they could approach this that does get rid of the dead one person clans without disrupting the ones that are merely dormant.

1. Have a waiting period were no members are active (Do not log in) at all. Since this idea prevents the one the clan belongs to (the leader) from losing anything the waiting period does not have to be months. One season is sufficient.
2. After the waiting period is over the clan is tied to the leaders acct. If he ever comes active again he is asked if he wants to revive his clan. if he says yes the clan is reinstated with all xp points. war wins, etc.. and the leader is its sole member. From there he is free to restock it and move forward. He has not lost anything nor had anything taken away.
3. With the clan tagged to the leaders acct it can then be removed from the game. Unless the leader ever becomes active again and asks for it this clan will never be seen in COC again.

The inactive acct (the leaders acct) would still get handled the same way the game does already. It is largely hidden from view so that it with its full collectors that would give loot, does not come up in searches. (So that us players don't get that loot)

I don't see how this would solve anything if the data would still have to be kept and take up server space in case of a revive. People are just guessing that server space is an issue, and is it really a problem that these clans come up in searches? (What if you actually are looking for them?)

Which isn't possible in this game. It works for other MMOs as you have an online avatar where you can interact with other, like minded people.

Unless you have 9 other real life friends with whom you wish to start a clan the only other way is to go into global which due to the limits on how long messages are kept is completely infeasible.

I am not sure how you got to caring about server space. The problem raised by the OP was too many of these little clans lying around with the same name...

Also I think you missed the part of my post where I said I personally did not care about these clans and I was simply respecting that others apparently do

I disagree with the idea of clans taking up server space, i'm sure SC has more than enough of that. I just think the clan list needs to be cleaned up a little. Like I said if SC wanted to do this they should make a 2 week notice, giving the option to make your clan public or private, that way the active 1 person clans could make their clan private and it wouldn't be disbanded. For the person who said they just want a clan for an intimidating name and cool looking shield there is your solution. I'm not saying this topic is urgent, but it for sure is something to look into. This topic is similar to a DVR if you have one or know what it is. It is okay and doesn't hurt you or anyone else for your DVR to be at 85% full but you just don't want it to be. You don't want a DVR full of recorded shows you have already watched you want new ones you have not watched. Anyways I hope this adds a little bit of understanding to this discussion.
