Implement a change where a shield only works against new attacks. Any revenge attack will be permitted but will not affect the defenders shield for non-revenge attacks. Might make people think twice about dropping lightning on your DE store.

So you got zapped and lost a dribble of DE, and the best thing you can come up with, is to leave every one wide open to revenge through a shield?.... Did you even consider the consequences, before posting such a ludicrous suggestion? Just think, about it.... You attack 10 bases in a day, log off, and then find that all 10 people revenged you, even though you had a shield... These 10 people will have had hours to scout your base, and cook up an appropriate army... how much loot you reckon you'd have left?
:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm: Doh!
I'd be more than happy to take the risk, I am always careful about who I attack and am confident my defense will stand up to all but the most expensive attack army. You are entitled to your opinion but quite frankly given the tone of your response I don't value it very much.
Obviously this would not work. I have proposed however a period at the end of the shield where players are susceptible to revenge attacks only (say the last half hour to hour of your shield). Of course, as soon as someone successfully attacks you, you get a new shield.
This is a terrible idea.
Do you want to get attacked constantly, and lose all your loot?
Nope. This would be a disaster.
You may feel confident in your defenses, but this would affect everyone.
I do think they should remove the loot penalty from revenge, but SC has already said that won't happen.
Only lightning should penetrate the shield. Just to ♥♥♥♥ off the people who complain about zappers.
Bad idea.
What if you buy a 7-day shield and then get revenged?
You dont have to value my opinion at all -- this is the internet afterall.
However it is still a stupid idea - just like the last 5 or 6 times it was suggested. And each of those times, it was explained why it was a stupid suggestion, by many people - (just like they have done this time)....
I personally don't like this idea.
The point of a shield is so you can't be attacked, at all.
Yes I would be able to revenge everyone over the course of a few days, but so many could do the same to me.
Even if each player can only break-shield once, that doens't stop 5 or more people breaking my shield in the same day to revenge me.
And if it did, it'll be just like the current system but with this message: "This village has already been revenged"
And no-one gets anywhere.
I agree that the ability to attack someone when under a Shield isn't a good thing to add in game. It sets a very disturbing precedent in CoC to where the Shield people rely on the most loses some of it's comforting security. I think this is a very very bad time to do such a thing, given how much people rely on that Shield feature early on in the game just to keep from loseing a sickening amount of progress to raids they very likely can't defend against.
I've also said elsewhere that there isn't anything one can practically do to the Revenge Feature to get it to work. It isn't broken. It is the system that encourages players to attack lower level targets that is the broken part. The Revenge feature can only do so much with choices that are often bad for one reason or another.
Stupid idea. I rely on shield so that when I request Cc troops for war it will be well protected from raid.
I love this idea everytime it comes up...... Not becuase its a good idea, but because it's the best example of not thinking it through that we get here.....
go count how many attacks you make in the average day. now count how many defenses you have.... ( probably one or two Becuase of the shield) now imagine how much loot you would have lost if all those attacks you made revenged you...
Like the saying "Be careful what you wish for..." :smirk:
Great, now I got the slightly nagging urge to make CoC themed morality tales.
What's the point of that shield if you can still get attacked? For the love of god it was called shield for that purpose.
There would be no longer the point of revenge if shield still prevents revenge attacks. Another idea is revenge shield where players are given time to revenge without undermining shield purpose.
