Sooo clan tournaments...?
Hey everyone i was wondering about the clan tournament idea. I did not see it in the ruled out or recently suggested thread and was wondering if there was any development on it (thread wise or SC dev team) that I may have missed or even if it was ruled out completely I would like to know.
Any help is appreciated as well as thoughts on it. If this thread is to be deleted or locked, i dont mind. This used to be a fairly popular idea after clan wars came out, not sure what happened but i know that myself and many others would love to see it added!
EDIT ------- found an existing thread, much better than this one

-----------------All ideas and features, for now-----------------
This is more of a layout of how tournaments could flow. If any, SC can decide both how much and what gets clan xp, bonuses, and gems to sustain a normal progression through the game by both your clan and your village.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- When you click the battle tab, you can either search for a war or tournament
- Your clan can only do one war or tournament at a time
ex: If you start a war and find a match, you cannot start the matchmaking to be in a tournament until the war is over and vice versa
- It will search for closely related clans (like wars) and make a bracket of however many Supercell believes would suit a tourney best. Preferably 6 clans so the tournament will last 6 days. More info in the matchmaking section
Will act much like a Clan War
- Before the tournament starts there will be a 24 hour prep day
- Once prep day is over you cannot change your tourney base until the next tournament prep day (not the next clan you face in the tourney)
- Each war on a clan will last a day. As it ends, it would add the scores to the bracket then immediately start the battle on the next clan in the tourney
- You can only scout the bases of the clan you are currently facing and not of any others
All you can see of what's happening with the others is the clan names and scores between them
---- > thinking about concealing the scores until a winner is determined on the final day. This will add more excitement as each day passes leading up to the final day (especially if some of your tourney wars were close). So basically you will still be able to view your current scores in the tournament (just like the war log for clan wars), but your clan won't be able to see any scores of the other clans facing each other.
This will give more incentive to each clan to try their best against each clan in the tourney. If a tourney is 80% done (has 1 war day left) and a clan has won all 4 of their wars so far, the last clan they face could have also won their last 4 wars. Point is, both clans could be nearly tied down to the last day and you wouldn't know it so your clan will still attack the best they can and not be tempted to slack off and your clan wont try to "loot" when actually your clan could have completely destroyed everyone (score wise).
If a clan believes they can and decide to "loot", it could be a critical move and an unsuspecting clan could pull ahead in the amount of stars.
Rewards
- Throughout the tournament, after each clan you face, you get the loot bonus transferred as soon as the war ends against a clan (like clan wars). After it transfers the loot bonus, it immediately starts the war day on the next clan and so on until the tournament is done
- The current system for Clan War XP would be implemented for each war in a tournament.
I dont believe there should be a tournament winning bonus for clan xp since clans would already get a winning bonus for defeating a clan within the tournament. If there was a tourney winning bonus, this could significantly boost the leveling of clans. With back to back wars within a tourney that would be more than enough clan xp per week.
- Gem reward = 90 gems to be able to boost all 4 barracks, spell factory, both dark barracks, and both heroes one time.
I feel pretty sure this is a fair idea, considering this would be a week long tournament and a lot of players will most likely go straight to farming for the weekend. If they decide to do a war right after, then i can almost guarantee that they will boost and try to farm before their war starts.
Gem reward - 2 ways we could go about this (maybe more but this is what I've come up with)
1.) Whoever has the most heroic attack and most heroic defense on the winning team only receives the gem reward
Problems with this way
- After all, this is a tourney so there will be more than one clan that your clan will face. This means there will be multiple "most heroic attack/defend" that the winning clan can have.
- The same person receives both the most heroic attack and defend.
Solution: They will still only get the regular amount of gems, it will not double for them
2.) All participating members of the winning clan would receive a gem reward
Problems? None that i can see with this way. Would seem fairly simple to implement.
Matchmaking
- Tournaments will happen every two weeks starting with a prep day on Sunday
Sunday = Prep day - Set up the right base! You won't be able to change it until the next tournament prep day!
Monday = 1 v 2 / 3 v 4 / 5 v 6
Tuesday = 1 v 3 / 2 v 5 / 4 v 6
Wednesday = 1 v 4 / 2 v 6 / 3 v 5
Thursday = 1 v 5 / 2 v 4 / 3 v 6
Friday = 1 v 6 / 2 v 3 / 4 v 5
Saturday = Adds up the stars gained by each clan, determines winner of the clan tournament, gives the (most heroic or participating members of winning team) gem reward. The matchmaking will then start searching the Sunday following the tournament for a week. This is when clans will get a week off to farm or do whatever you guys do.
- If it finds a full set of clans before the start date, it will continue to search to find a better match-up. If so, it will swap out the least powerful or most powerful clan based off the stats of the clan it is trying to include in your tournament.
Lets be honest, some war match-ups may seem like a mismatch. To prevent this as much as possible, we could give tournaments an extremely extended search time. During the week tournaments aren't going on, the matchmaking could spend it pairing up the right clans. Players could then farm on the week off yet they will still want to do the tournaments because they are less abundant than wars, giving it that rarity feeling that this game needs again.
Clan tournament leaderboard
(not much input on this, more would be appreciated)
- Displays clans with most tournament wins
You may adjust it to your local region if you'd like. Much like the current in-game leaderboard. An additional page could be added to the current leaderboards for tournaments instead of adding a whole new leaderboard button and everything.
