(Speaking for the smart peepole) The "Lightning Spell Problem" or "The Lightning Rod"

It seems to me (As it would seem to most people), that the real lightning spell problem is the people who have a problem with lightning spells. And the lightning rod should be called the nimrod, because those are the type of people it really attracts. Damaging a resource storage gives you some of its loot. This is a self evident truth, an undisputed fact. What are the effects of the lightning spell? "Deals damage in a small area." Oh wow! It deals damage? What does it deal damage to? Everything? So, it even damages storages? Yeah! And what happens when you damage a storage? Oh yeah, that's right, a lightning rod pops up and gives you the middle finger. Wait, that isn't right... What happens when you damage a storage?... It's on the tip of my tongue... I remember now! FAIR GAMEPLAY happens when you damage a storage. Lightning spells exist. Resource storages exist. Therefore, lightning spelling a resource storage will exist.

*drops mic* (is later billed for damaging expensive mic.)

Well thanks alot man... I prepared this whole rant for you, posted it somewhere else, and you go and make this totally logical point on how a lightning rod isn't needed. Totally annoying...

I've also found it to be quite effective as part of a strategy to 3 star TH8s with mass dragons, but that's besides the point.


I tried lightning on an elixir storage once when I was TH5 or 6 just to see, and I got back just about the same amount of elixir it cost to make a spell.

Needless to say after discovering that it was basically a 0 sum, minus the time it took to make the spell, I never did it again. I also began working under the assumption that if that's how it is for regular e, that it probably wasn't a particularly efficient way to get DE either. This, of course, was quickly confirmed by comparing the cost to the return I'd get on a regular raid vs a lightning spell drop.

And of course I also noticed that I rarely if ever got hit by lightning when in crystal and above.

Yeah, but they damage them instead of paralyzingly them.
