How to revenge a DE zapper
Apparently lots of people have problems with the DE zappers. It can be frustrating. Recently I was zapped 4-5 times in a single day and lost around 10k DE (while I was <1k DE from a hero upgrade). This isn't a typical experience but it can show exactly how annoying it can get. I employ a punitive strategy against DE zappers.
For my regular raiding, I have a barch-like army and my spell composition varies but I always have 2 lightning spells. Sometimes this just isn't enough to really revenge a zapper in a way they deserve. So this is what I do to get some revenge without having to change my regular game play. If you have the proper army to crush them, do that instead!
(1) Try to revenge them as often as possible (DE zappers tend to be online continuously)
(2) Revenge them as soon as you can (typically they have a ton of DE in storage waiting for a big upgrade)
(3) Lure out their clan castle troops and kill them
(4) Set off as many of their traps as you can (giant bombs and skeletons should be your main focus)
(5) If their heroes are near the outside, lure them out and kill/damage them
(6) If their heroes are near the inside, wait until they patrol onto the DE storage, then zap their storage
(7) If it's worthwhile, clean out their collectors (but don't give them a 40% shield)
(8) Do NOT take their town hall if it's outside. Leave them open to another attack!
When I have 4 lightning spells, I tend to come out with slightly more DE than I lost (again, because they tend to have a lot on hand). If I only have 2 lighting spells, I usually manage to cost them 100k gold, force them them to re-request troops, put their heroes in recovery, and snag a little from collectors. Sometimes I actually come out positive from collectors. Ultimately, you shouldn't expect to come out ahead on resources. Again, this is a punitive strategy. Remember: if they get attacked again shortly after your revenge, their defenses will be much weaker. You should think about what the next guy may do to him!
