Multiple Wars

Since Jan when we were able to start wars without the entire clan, we've done lots of small wars with specific groups. I have a big enough clan that I could easily start more than one war at a time.

Why can't I do something like the top 10 players in one war and another 10 players fighting their own war concurrently? As is we do things like that but but one group sits and waits while the other wars. Then later in the week perhaps we do one all together.

Seems the capacity exists to let the 2nd group start a war before the 1st has ended. When you click on the war page there could just be another start war button if you have enough members who are eligible. The players in the current war would be grayed out just as if they were ineligible from a war in another clan.

That would actually be pretty interesting. I could see many clans being excited about this, but it might make some clans earn XP more quickly than others, due to the winning war XP, 40% stars, and 60% stars being the same no matter the clan war size. I'd also be interested in knowing how it would affect server space as there could potentially be double the amount of wars going on at once.

Also, what kinds of restrictions would you suggest putting in place? Is it okay for one clan to start two wars at the exact same time, or will there be a cool down time implemented? Can a 50 member clan start 5 wars in the same time period or just a max of two?

It may be complicated but I can see the benefit of this. No one can be in two wars at once, but if you had 50 people, you could have 2 - 25 man wars. I like it.

I'm not purposely trying to bump an old thread, but I'm more curious about procedure on forum. If this is idea ruled out it shouldn't the thread be deleted? But it hasn't been deleted. It also hasn't been added to the sticky for consideration or ruled out section. So I'm just curious how long it takes to make any sort of progress on ideas?

I understand actual implementation if a feature is accepted might take months.

What you are doing is basicly bringing back up an idea, that no one has really said much on, and it is either that and 'bump' or repost a new thread and 'spam'. I tend to go with the 'bump', since it also pulls back in what was said before, which is sorely needed in most discussions on this forum.

As for the split clan war, not sure on how well to do that right off hand. But it does remind me of the 5 vs 5 'clan war' topic I posted on last night. Basicly saying that a 5 vs 5 isn't really a war, and if it is going to be done, it should be it's own thing, and not something that locks the rest of the clan out of doing a war because 5 people wanted a quick clash, especially in a 50 member clan.

Maybe that idea would best fit your needs?

The best part of this would be that the wars can be tailored to different levels - so for example: TH10-TH8 in one war, TH7 and below in another. Particularly for clans with a wide spread of levels in their ranks that find it difficult to be matched with a similar clan...

That's exactly my use case. We're a family clan so we don't really enforce things like no rushing and we're tolerable of guys on every level.

The result is we have all different skills/preferences.

I believe almost all the infrastructure is available to do this. You can already see more than one war at a time if you look at the war log on your clan page and choose details. Players are already limited from being in more than one war at a time. The only thing that isn't there is a quick button to start a new war when you're already in one. This wouldn't have worked before the opt in/out preferences so that clans can do smaller wars but now that we have that feature it seems like this is a great logical next step.

There is an issue with the Clan XP/Perk system since you can gain more XP from several smaller wars at once that one big one with the same number of people. Bonus War Loot however won't be an issue, given to those that score something, and that requires being in a war.

But honestly, Clan Level doesn't exactly give any major advantage to a clan in a clan war, which is as it should be, since real experience and playing level, not player level, should determine the results.

In any case, that's the main sticking point, earned XP for a clan; how do you deal with that?

If you're a L5+ clan and you ware a L4- clan, you have a bonus of troop upgrade. We're L4 working on 5. The last clan we warred was 5. They had all max wizards/dragon in their cc and we only had w5/d3. Yes, minor but it is an advantage as you gain perks level up.

I see no way to address the issue of clan XP if this were implemented.


Clan A does 1 war with 50 members.

Clan B also has 50 members, but does 5 wars with 10 members each.


Both clans get the same number of XP for getting at least 1 star on every base, but Clan B now gets an additional 140 XP for bonuses that come with getting a certain total number of stars, plus as much as an additional 200 XP depending on how many of the wars they win. What would end up happening is that you'd pretty much never see anything but 10 or 15 person wars.
