Solution to common hero complaint

I have heard many people complain about not having heroes in war. And yes, I agree that this is a nuisance. But supercell uses people who gem heroes for lots more money At least that is what I have heard.
One argument people use is that the builder is working on the altar, not the hero, so the hero should still be able to attack. Well how about this: since the builder is working on the altar, you have one more attack with your hero at full strength. Then after you use that attack, the hero is tired but has to sleep on the grass (poor little fella) so he/she doesn't get full energy. This means the hero loses stats.
The first time you use it, it has full strength. The second time, two thirds strength. The third time, it has one third strength. After that it gets insomnia or whatever and sleeps the rest of the time until the upgrade finishes.
Tell me what you think of this and what I should change.

Sorry, I just remembered insomnia is when you can't sleep so just ignore that part.

I do agree that if the hero is awake when the builder works on the alter, it should stay awake until you attack and he loses health, or he loses health from a defense, though you could just plan to start your upgrade right after using the hero (you were probably attacking to get the resources anyway). It would be nice too if you could wake partially healed heroes and take them to battle, but supercell would lose money on this.

What you've described though would be difficult to program, and it wouldn't solve the real issue, which is that players want heroes to be available for war attacks while upgrading. And Supercell has agreed to this and is working through the programming.


There is another thread that should be on the top few pages about creating a pause button for hero builds, which is probably the best solution for making this happen. There are two main components that most seem to agree would have to be included in this feature:

1. The builder would remained tied to the hero build, so he couldn't be used for anything else while the build is paused.
2. There would be a limit to the number of times you could pause a single build (6 if you pause for each attack, or 3 if you pause for a full war), and the number of times the hero can attack each pause (1 or 2 attacks per pause (depending on how it's set up).

People want usage in war so you could use the attacks for war.
You get to choose whether to use it in war, multi player, or goblin missions. Pausing it 6 times is more money lost for supercell too, so your logic is flawed.

It is a possibility that it would be difficult to program, but not much more than a pause option. I guess this is like a pause option except it would just be better for supercell's money.

Not really, because right now most people that don't want to spend the money to gem their heroes done just sit out of war entirely until they're upgraded, or battle with 1 hero. So they wouldn't be losing money because they were never making that money in the first place (who's logic is flawed now :p).


Supercell has said that they are working to address the heroes in war feature, but it is a rather complex coding problem. As far as I can tell, a pause feature like what I described may very well be the simplest workaround. And maybe there are other caveats too...like it has to be battle day when you pause. They should be able to make it only available for war attacks.

In my clan we cover each other for hero upgrades so that wars can continue but no one is gemming. We make a point of it because we do not like SC putting the squeeze on us like that. More should do that. make it not be a money maker.

Then, if they ever make it so you can use during war you can be less stubborn about all the other reasons to gem heroes and that money they can start having.

That's something entirely different than what we're discussing, and if you notice I was saying it would be nice but I can see why it won't happen.


What I'm saying is your solution is more like that, and does not solve the issue of being able to use heroes in war. Not at full strength, and certainly not for the 6 possible war battles you could potentially be doing during the course of a week long hero upgrade. The solution I'm proposing is not entirely my own, either, but it would not lose Supercell money (or at least not much) because as I said once already, the money they'd be losing from players not finishing builds early is mostly money they're not getting right now anyway because people are just electing not to participate in war or go in with one hero. That part is kind of irrelevant though since Supercell has said that they're trying to make heroes available for war while upgrading, we just have to be patient.

Ever heard of Opt In/Out? Opt OUT of the War while your Hero is upgrading. Opt back IN once it's finished.

Have you read the pause idea thread? I found it and many people said that people are gemming there heroes and people don't like that? Just because you don't do something doesn't mean everyone doesn't. But some people can't afford to constantly be buying gems. As opposed to the poster who said opt in/opt out, if you are a good farmer you would hardly ever get to be in war then, if you have to opt out every time one is upgrading.
This idea is very similar to the pause idea which I didn't know about. But the only people who were against the pause idea said that it would lose income for supercell. My idea would make some people still want to gem.
