Are level 4 hogs enough or should i just wait for level 5?

I just started a clan war, and I will have level 4 hogs by the time battle day starts. A few of their bases, including the #1, have pretty hoggable looking bases. My question is are level 4 hogs still reliable to use? Or should I just forget about it until i get them to level 5. Level 5 is the next upgrade I'm doing too, I already have the DE needed so if I should just wait I will, because I can probably get them with another strategy, but I kinda wanted to practice with hogs a bit before I max them.

lvl4 hogs are a TH8 troops and against a "hog friendly" TH8 they are very good.
