Why is the Air Sweeper Necessary?

The problem with the game is there is 2 games that contradict each other. Trophy pushing you want defenses as strong as possible to make it hard. War however you want bases reasonable to 3*. They need to find a way to work these two modes. They don't work on the same plain and they need to realize that.

Actually, in both cases you want bases to have as much defense as possible. It is possible to get 100% of the clan experience by getting only 60% of the possible stars. With that in mind, there is no reason that any base needs to be able to be 3-starred by an equal level opponent. 3-starring should be only for when someone attacks a base that is weaker than their own. 1-starring should be easy. 3-starring should be unbelievably difficult (and ideally impossible against a fully maxed base of equal town hall level).

You are supposed to understand that the reason we spend years upgrading our bases and hundreds if not thousands of hours farming for loot is so that no one, under any circumstance, will ever be able to 3-star our bases. What is the point of spending all that time upgrading defenses if the defenses can't protect you? A maxed TH10 with a decent base design should never be 3-starred by anyone ever. That should be the reward for maxing your base.

Supercell was just thinking about a small (huge) payday. They needed to come out with a small update to milk money from gemmers. They will probably lose a ton of gemmers if they came out with a huge update that will force gemmers to shell out thousands of dollars to remain on top. They only do small incremental updates to milk money from users now.

I do not know why SC kills every successful attack strategy. They killed the hogs earlier when they introduced the inferno and make the king & queen unlurable. Now they are killing the Lavaloon :mad:

Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.

Air Sweeper hasn't held me off from getting loot nor has it saved my base from losing any loot...

Am I the only one who has seen the game get severely out of balance at high levels? I'm not necessarily against the air sweeper but something should be done to bring back balance and give people a chance on the offensive side. Either lower wall health or introduce higher level giants than seven and higher level hogs or maybe a combination of both. You can look through all the top players and almost all of them are using air troops. To me that seems obvious that they haven't made ground troops strong enough to compete at the higher levels.

Just 2 starred a almost max base in our war (max heroes/defenses 3/4 zaps) with GoWiWiPe. Still seems more than possible to use ground attacks and I suspect that air attacks will still work ok when people get used to the sweeper. I just suck at air attacks so I can't really tell.

Air attacks at higher levels can 3 star bases if used properly

I'm starting to think everyone who says things like this is in a low level clan. Hogs are nowhere near dead. Chances are you've just never seen a very highly skilled attacker use a hog hybrid.
