hide the Air Sweeper to make sure the enemy does not know the direction of the wind~ :o
Obviously the answers will be don't hide it because it already really cripples air attacks. I'm glad that we are able to know which direction the air sweeper faces so we can plan our attack accordingly. Very bad idea to hide the air sweeper.
I agree something should be done about the Air Sweeper. It should either be hidden, rotate so that it covers 360 degrees, or the direction of the gust should not be visible. It is way to easy of a defense to defeat and offers very little benefit for at least a townhall 7 even at level 3 (which is maxxed). Sure it is effective is someone attacks, even with level 2 drags and level 6 clan loons, from the direction of the gust. It has no effect that I can tell on a townhall 7 dragloon attack other than to pretty much dictate which direction the attack will come from. The end result is the same. My base is wiped out. The only value I can see is the additional hitpoints which are insignificant against a dragloon attack.

Nah, the air sweeper is perfect already...
SC always think everything about the items before the implement it...
SEARCH BEFORE POST!
Like you said there, "very bad for the attacker but good for defend" ...YOU are both an attacker and a defender. Say, you found a base to attack. Destroy all his Air Defense, deploy your air troops. Suddenly, Air Sweeper pops out and blows them away. You got annoyed. Yes, both good and bad for you.
The hairdryer is already a bit OP at lower levels, if anything, I think it's range should be a bit smaller.
Teslas are hidden and get the x2 bonus versus PEKKA hurting ground attacks. Leave the range as is and make the air sweeper hidden. Then it adds some significant strategy to air attacks.
1. Air raids don't need a nerf.
2. We already have tesla's.
3. This does really makes sense to me.
But to be positive, have a nice day
if enemy know the direction of the wind, then air sweep is useless, enemy will target air sweeper first or get behind air sweeper wind direction. you guys no ball make air sweeper hidden :p haaaaa
the air sweep is not useless even if the enemy knows the direction it faces. a well placed air sweeper can defeat a lot of air attacks. you PROBABLY havent encountered a well placed air sweeper in a base yet, that's why you people say that.
the air sweeper's defensive strategy is to delay air attacks or prevent them from getting near something you want to defend. It is reliant to how a person reacts to an air sweep's placement. if the enemy is stupid enough to put his air troops in the air sweep's range, then defenses and traps will kill most of them. if the attacker puts his troops behind the air sweep, the defender would most probably cover the air sweeper with his/her ADs and other air attacking defenses.
just give the air sweeper a try, and you'll see. you'll soon realize how useful a defense it is. unless you dont know how to place it, then air attacks gonna wreck your base.
and, CoC already got hidden tesla. why get another hidden building. that would make the air sweeper overpowered. so would be an omnidirectional air sweeper.
Remember when lvl 7 & 8 walls could be upgraded with elixir? I believe that was a SC idea and they clearly didn't think about everything before implementing this.... Completely invalid and ignorant comment...
The air sweeper, along with every other new item added to the game, will need adjusted and will be adjusted accordingly. Not sure to what extent but there will be some kind of change from the feedback given on this item just as it has always been done.
You could hide the direction but not the location of air sweeper.
To say that the air sweeper is useless implies that I may as well not even know that it's there. In which case, why does it matter if it's hidden?
Think about it. If knowing the direction of air sweeper causes you to attack the base from a different direction, then the air sweeper has already worked. It made you change your attack plan.
I've already come across 3 bases in war (2 TH8's, 1 TH7), where the air sweeper changed my preferred attack plan. On one of the TH8's, I had planned to use heal/rage with dragons to get two of the AD's, and loons to get the third AD. However, the air sweeper covered the central AD, so I didn't want to risk it. I used 3x lightning on the AD which was covered by the air sweeper, then dragons to get one AD and loons to get the second when it locked on to my dragons. Without the air sweeper, both plans were perfectly fine, but I felt the heal/rage plan had the better chance of success. The air sweeper forced me to fall back to the backup option.
In another situation, I was planning to use 3x lightning anyway, with dragons to get one AD and loons for the second. But the AD I preferred to zap was not the one protected by the air sweeper. So I had to zap an AD that was not my preferred choice, and this made it harder to get my dragons and balloons to the other AD.
So yes, you can be snide and just say "attack from the other direction", but it's rarely that simple unless it was going to be a super easy 3 star no matter what. If there was only one good attack direction to begin with, based on your troops versus the base layout, then the air sweeper can make a huge difference. Even if you know what direction it's aiming.
Edit: Forgot to mention the TH7. My preferred attack was heal/rage (I think 3x lightning at TH7 is a sign of cowardice or at least laziness, so I use it sparingly). However, with the air sweeper protecting an AD, I decided to zap the protected AD and play it safe. I still got 3 stars, but the point is, it made me change my attack plan.
all scared air sweeper hidden XD haaaaa
So far I am underwhelmed by the air sweeper. First one I encountered was easily taken out by rwo minions dropped inside its fan. Of course it may do better at higher levels, but right now it's not impressive. So I ignore the panicked folks who think the sky is falling.
