I don't need the benefit of your doubt. Report away. Highlighting that there are selfish people on the forum is neither an insult or personal attack - simply an observation.

Also the first part of your post is not the attack. It is the latter part referring to the deterioration of the education system resulting in my diminished intelligence compared to yours that I find insulting. I thought I made that quite clear. Having said this, twisting my references appears to be a habit of yours.

Actually that was a rhetorical statement the first part of the sentence was where I was refering to, and the latter was reference to failures of the education systems brought about by medalling politicians - not failures of intelligence, people have the ability it is the environmental factors that have the impact but every educational establishment I have been to has encouraged research and I am sure yours have too, but you took it very personal - almost to the point that it might have hit too close to the mark in that you avoided educational establishments or did not take advantage of their offerings.

Oddly enough I was going to add another quote but the point is mute, because your entire dialogue shows you have a very superficial generalised view of people who have differing opinions to your own - one might even say a pessimistic or sarcastic view of them.

I cannot comprehend how you thought spouting political rhetoric about educational establishments and the institution as a whole bears ANY relevance to this post. I took it personally as you were quite simply responding to me directly!

I would not call a degree in Electronic Engineering and an HND in Mechancal Engineering is avoiding education but hey, you obviously know best.

As for those with differing opinions to my own I invite it. As I said before, Difference offers debate, debate offers change and change moves us forward as a civilisation. I am a pro-democracy, open minded individual who invites opposing opinion. You however are too busy with your high horse spiel and would rather try and sabotage a discussion rather than engaging in contributing to the subject matter.

Sarcasm is unfortunately a quirk of my personality, a residual effect left on my persona from the staining of my workin environment. A dry sense of humour appears to come with the territory of engineering. Still, I would rather sarcasm than open insults.

And in my last post the key word is 'might' not that you definitely did. I certainly would think the degree would have actively encouraged research I cannot speak from HND side of things as from my experience (which i admit is limited) is the more putting into practice what you have learnt in the classroom.

I am sorry to disagree but you have single handedly been rude or shot down people who differ from your opinion in this thread, I fail to see from this information we can glean that you invite opposing opinion.

I too have a sarcastic side and indeed rhetoric mixed in with it perhaps this has led to misunderstandings perhaps not.

But what I have been trying to say all along is come up with a new idea on this topic to add to the discussion - no malice in that, no toxicity or anything else, so at least we can agree on discourse being the key here.

I generally agree with you in spirit but lets be realistic - the root of it (at least for me) is not that someone stole your DE, its the sleazy/cheap/coward way in which they stole it.

They didnt work for it but breaking through your defenses in a smart attack. When someone breaks through and steals my DE I actually tip my cap to them in respect.

But there is zero/nada/nothing you can do to defend a lightning striker. It takes absolutely zero skill to do and people that lightning strike your DE and run make most people sick.

I think every other attack strategy there is something the defender could have done to have a chance. Different way to lay out the base, different pairings of defenses, th exposed or not. But against lightning only attacks - there is nothing. In a game that seems to strive for some sort of competitive balance - lightning only strikes feel out of balance.

Twice yesterday I had no shield. During those periods of time the following happened before I finally got a shield:

• 1st time: out of all the defenses 5 people lightning struck me for nearly 6500 in DE
• 2nd time: 4 of the defenses people used lightning to take a little over 4000 in DE

All of them were lightning only raids except two, where a half hearted attempt was made to steal other stuff. Even with 3 drills running you cant keep up with that. As I am trying to save for golems to 5 and at the moment I have 75k, its going to continue to stand out.

I'd feel less bothered if at least one of them gave me a shield and I did not continue to lose a ton of DE.

So - in spirit I understand its a part of the game. But man - it really sucks and leaves you wondering why bother? And the revenge system does not help here either. I test every revenge when I am going to attack and I would estimate usually only 1 or 2 bases are not under a shield.

I am sure today I am just feeling a little more bitter than a normal day. But it does suck. It just feels like there should be something that you could choose to do to defend.

The key issue here is that you have pursued a noble cause of your own, maintained a campaign of relentless discreditation against me, firstly by belittling my right to discuss something, then by trying to dismantle the credibility of the education system under which I studied. I cannot help but think I wronged you in a previous life for the magnitude of your response.

No, I gotta say you were going to be 'tetchy' anyhow. Although you claim you came here not to complain, not to change things, you have done both starting with your original post. And you have been spoiling for a fight ever since, that's why you have treated people pointing out a few facts as personal attacks.

Despite your claim that you were seeking discussion that is not true either. You did not want discussion at al, you wanted sympathy and agreement with your complaints, you wanted to hear that everyone was going to get behind you and the changes you were trying to push. You rejected discussion as soon as you got mad at hearing points and facts that did not go along with what you wanted to hear. Instead you considered anything other than what you wanted to hear as personal attacks. That is not the actions of a person seeking discussion so lets not kid here.

Guys did explain why your topic and suggestion are bad ones, they did not just rag on it, they gave you the facts. You have responded as a person that sees having those facts presented as personal attacks.

So yeah, you are tetchy. You were going to be tecthy if you got any response other than someone in authority saying 'we are on it'.

Oh for gosh sakes, get off your high horse please. You can post, you are just hoping someone says otherwise so you can fight about it. As you post, try to come up with new ideas that would improve the game. To simply rehash old ones and further beat an already long dead horse is not doing that. No it is not your fault that this got discussed into the ground before you. But you should still have more respect for that point than you do and certainly should not have that chip on your shoulder. The fact that you approached this with such a chip on your shoulder gives the appearance you already knew you were doing the wrong thing and were just daring anyone to say so.

The fact is that the people in authority have already said it is not a problem (and being the ones that decide what the game is going to be and then make it that way their opinion is the one that counts) and not something they plan to make changes over. That is the reason why folks see further whining and further pushing of things that they already said they were not going to do as just spamming old ideas. And spamming just takes up space that could go to newer ideas that might actually help solve something that is a problem. (Which zapping is not, sorry)

Intelligence is always there the education is but a tool, insulting the tool is not insulting the intelligence. Put it this way if I go up to a builder and say that mattocks a bit knackered mate do you want to borrow mine - i am not insulting his ability as a builder, I am insulting the poor tools he's been provided with nothing more it's not a reflection on him at all.

I think you should read the thread from start to finish as in as much of an open mind as you can.

I have not tried to discredit you, instead I have tried to steer you into a new way of thinking, I have stated facts about your original post, I have actually enjoyed this discussion and I have never sought to belittle you, the fact we are discoursing now I think is evident of that fact, it is also this that has kept the thread open and alive and I have even added a few offerings for discussion.

I have no knowledge of previous lives so I cannot say - I sometimes get deja vu but that is in my current life and in the near future.
