it's faster to train BAM
The faster train time is nice, but it's the versatility that makes BAM a better raiding option. I always keep 20 minions on hand to hit storages when the opportunity arises. The vast majority of my attacks don't even use the minions.
80 barbs and 100 archers is pretty much just as effective as 100 barbs and 120 archers for collector raids. 20 or so minions provide a far better benefit than a few extra barbs/archers.
Train Fast and Donate Fast.
I generally use Archers for all my attacks, sometimes Archers and Minions. I could never tame Barbs so far :(
if you're TH9 and have 2 Max drills
the DE won't matter
faster train times = more attack oppurtunity
Minions also have higher DPS/housing space
and it's a flying unit, it's both a pro and a con though
Bam were awesome at th8, now I prefer much stronger gibarch, that is trained MUCH longer, but I love it destroying th8s and some premmie th9s. Time for a payback, when I was a th8. With giants lvl6 u can go inside any th8 base. In a long run is more efficient imo, because u don't need dark troops, so u can save extra de.
Much more versatile compared to Barch. BAM can at times drill into a base's core unless the base is well developed. Whereas Barch is mostly for raiding collectors, and it at best can drill into poorly developed TH8 and below.
The minions are really fast to train and can fly over walls, straight to storages. Deploy barch first to clear buildings, then drop about 3 minions to check for air bombs. Then let the horde loose. They can easily take out storages and such.
