Why I can't get the DIAMOND on "Watch the movie"? It didn't appear ever and ever.
Watch the movie. Find the pink movie ticket and click on it (it is just by where the newspaper is.) You will be taken to the "movies", either an advertisement for similar games or sometimes a movie short. Watch the short, then close the box on its X indicator. Then accept the reward, which includes both experience points and a diamond.

If you're lucky, you'll get quite a run of these, which can soon add up. A recent change allows you to choose to watch a set of movies in a row, with a slight chance of getting a diamond or a bigger chance of getting something else.

I really jealous with my friends who can get at least 3 Diamonds daily with "Watch the movie" that I had mentioned above.
Is this a bug on my Hay Day account only???

Well, there are a couple of theories, and they are opined in that thread.

My own experience is that the movie ticket can come and go, and I don't think I have ever received three diamonds in a day, never mind "at least three diamonds a day", so that might be an exaggeration. And Cricks left a link to the diamond hunter thread which gives some good tips for finding diamonds.

The main thing to note in this instance is that there is nothing you can do to make movie tickets appear, and it is not a bug that you need to report. Supercell knows that not everyone gets the tickets. The explanation given by Supercell is that a random selection of farms receive the tickets:

"Why don't I get movie tickets?Movie tickets are one of the many kinds of special offers created by Hay Day. These offers are distributed to a randomly calculated group of players at a time, meaning not everyone receives the same offers at the same time.

If you did not receive the movie tickets, it's ok :) Take advantage of the other offers in Hay Day, like diamond discount offers, hiring Tom and buying tools for special prices on the first page of the Daily Dirt.

I am sure that if you continue playing, you'll soon get an offer that is just for you! We will continue to work to improve the game and it is possible that we are going to introduce more offers in future updates :)"

And from my experience: I usually see 4 or 5 movie trailers a day.. They don't all give diamonds ofc, some give diamonds, other give bolts or planks or a finished product (for example jam, ...). The price of 1 bolt with diamonds is around 8 diamonds if I recall correctly.. So in my experience: three diamonds a day? Not sure.. The equivalent of three diamonds? Definetly.

Um...well, ok. ;) perhaps you can think of it like that. A bolt costs 8 diamonds to buy, yes, but that is highway robbery :D -- in a player's stall it just costs a couple of hundred coins; and actually a lot - a lot, a lot, a lot - of bolts are free. They cost nothing at all, they just float up from crop harvesting or feeding a pet, so if you grow some wheat or serve a townie you can earn a bolt just as easily as watching an ad. Diamonds are a bit different in that respect.

Yes, that's exaggerated. First one is always a diamond, next 3 are random. It can happen that it's 3 or even 4 diamonds, I've seen it. But it's quite rare. Usually it's 1 diamond and 3 other things. The other things can be almost anything, a voucher, a tem/lem/bem/sem, a product. No crops.

I've tested it by creating and wiping a couple dozen farms on a device and *all* of those farms got the tickets, no exception. That's too much "coincidence" to be random. I don't know how it's determined though. Maybe the device itself (S5) is a factor. Or something else :)

I have a baby farm on a 2nd device and it gets the tickets every day. For over a year now. So it's not random, and not rotating either.

Heh lol yeah. Price is different from value though. Apparently SC thinks the value of a bolt is the same as 8 diamonds, and SC can dictate that market and set the price accordingly.

I doubt most players will agree a bolt is worth 8 diamonds though. XD

My baby farm gets 3 movies every day. Diamonds and good stuff every day. I got them too, until the day I purchased diamonds. Don't know why not everyone gets them. I agree, not random and defiantly not rotating. But like getting 3 really good WOF prizes every single bloody day. Do not have much luck with the other advertised ways of getting diamonds. Really, really, miss those diamonds

Mostly....but sometimes, when that bolt is all that stands between you and a barn upgrade, and your machines are groaning under stacks, and you have spent the last half an hour gathering eggs one by one...collect one, feed the hen, collect one, feed the hen...8 diamonds to solve all that hassle is a bargain! :D

Never been in that situation. I'll trade my bolts for diamonds lol. :p

I've never gotten the tickets on my farm. Not a single time. Just the baby farm.

It would have been just enough diamonds to add the 9th slot to the net maker by now. But alas, it is the way it is, I can't say that it really bothers me :)

Too bad that Supercell writes incredible nonsense about it. One can't blame the mods on here to repeat after them of course. You gotta applaud and commend them for protecting the interests of a multi billion company for free in their spare time right. It's such altruism that makes this world a better place XD

No, this is not a bug, it is business, and the business is advertising for clients. These movie trailers are not part of the game itself. They are the ads that help pay for many of us to play free. The advertisers have target audiences and give SC those demographics and countries that they want their ad shown in. I imagine that the advertisers are billed for each movie trailer shown, so of course, they have a budget that states how many people get the ad. It is never going to be something that everyone has.

Is it truly random, I doubt it. Computer code is never truly random. I have played for over two years and have never seen one of these offers. It was only 6 mo or so, ago that I bought my first diamond package. I have spent less than $30 on diamonds, but have no problem finding them through out the game. SC is quite generous with them, if you take the time to look.

That would make sense, except that in another game I played they were indeed offered to everyone. Those advertisers aren't getting their ads for free either. So it's not that obvious that it's never going to be something that everyone has.

As for target audiences, the device that got the movie trailers was linked to the same google account as the device that didn't. The game that got the trailers was not connected to FB or G+. The game that didn't, was. So unless information will only exclude you from getting them, and no information means you will get them, this can't be the determining factor.

As for demographics, both devices are in the same hands, same room, same country. There goes that one out the door :)

So, I'm puzzled, and just dont' know why :)

True, never truly random doesn't mean not random at all though. This has nothing to do with the limited random capabilities of computers. Even within those limited random capabilities, this just ain't a random rotating perk. It's not random at all, and not rotating either.

EDIT: If it's supposed to be random, it may be a bug after all. It's not hard to mess up randomizing in code. However, SC clearly states it's not a bug, it doesn't need to be reported, so I may assume they know what they're talking about. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time that it takes ages before a software company acknowledges a bug :P

Well yeah there's other ways to get the diamonds. For both players who get the trailers, and those who don't. That's not the issue though while pondering the question why some players get them and why some players don't. Or while questioning the nonsense explanation that SC gives about it.
