[TH8] What is Hogs & Dragons? (Anti Hogs & Dragons)

Description:
I designed this base because in TH8 I oftenly attacked with full Dragons & Mass Hogs at wars.
So I'm trying to make a base that can make the Mass Hogs & Dragons.
I used this base at the end my journey at TH8, tested on 4 attacks at war and the enemies only gained 1 or 2 stars on it.
This base should work on GoWiPe attacks too. Cause it has a wall dummies.
But i doubt it.. :facepalm: as it looks seems easier to reach the TH straight with GoWiPe and saves 2 stars.
You might test it by yourself, because I won't attacked by GoWiPe at that moments.
And now, I already at TH9. So i can't provide you the logs.

Yes, looks like a solid base against Dragons and Hogs :)

But Gowipe would work good I think, Gowiva even better. Nevertheless, it looks like a pretty good War base, since even at TH 8, the majority of clashers ignore to try other strategy´s as Mass-Dragons, even if they begin to only 1-2 star their opponents.


I also have a Anti-Dragon War base(and also Hogs have had a hard job until now, despite it has no DGB), but it is vulnerable against Gowipe/Gowiva, but until now(13 wars with this base!) I´ve been attacked with Gowipe only once! He and one really good Dragloon-attacker where the only two who 3-stared this base :D

Because all the other attackers only tried it with Mass-Dragons, in one war, even 5 attackers, they even deployed them at the same playe everytime, the Dragons made exactly the same everytime and the 1-stared me everytime...


So for TH 8, it´s the most important thing to make a Anti-Dragon Base IMO :) Have a member in my clan searching for a Anti-Dragon base, will suggest him yours :)

Good against all drags but a smart attacker would destroy one or two ad by sniping. Air defenses are easy to snipe using loons/hogs. Not bad against gowipe as point defenses are inside the core and outer layer of walls. Looks good against hogs.

One thing is that the air defenses are pretty far away from each other. If I could zap one of them, I would then go drop my dragons near the other remaining two and they would pretty much get the remaining air defenses easily since they don't quite cover each other. That's a thing you should take note when making an anti-dragon bases, you have to make sure at least one air defense is covering another, usually that means you have to triangulate the air defenses and not in that L-shape. If you could re-position the air defenses in a triangle pattern, then this base would be very hard to beat by dragons.

EDIT: Upon further observations, I realized the L-shaped air defenses are intentional and actually works good with all the archer towers placed on the opposite side of the air defenses. People would usually think the air defenses are very easy to destroy but once they do, a couple or two dragons would have already died and the well-placed seeking air mines would take out another couple of dragons. I don't think the remaining dragons could manage to get to the other side of the base and take out everything without being took out first by those heavy hitting archer towers (a lot of clashers generally underestimate archer towers when it comes to mass dragons).

I don't think the dummy walls actually work though but not a problem, GoWiPe still won't be much of problem considering not a lot of TH8s use those and even if they do, they almost always never get three stars because they ran out of time getting to the last building.

And also, put those skeleton traps in the core slightly spaced out so that they would not get triggered at almost the same time thus, a single hit by the dragon would kill all the skeletons (dragon attacks have a small AOE of damage).

Overall, great base. I like it and it's pretty hard to three-star especially for the average clasher.

Yes, I agree with you. Because at TH8, the best and the easiest attack is using the mass drag / hog. Because the gowipe is slightly hardest for the average clasher but it guarantee 2 stars. imo.

Yes, I agree with you. A combination Drag/Loon or Drag/Hog will make some differences.

Yes, thank you for givin the another idea for the clasher. Placing the skels into the right place will improve the defense.
When people plays the mass dragons, they usually forgetting the archer towers will lure the hp of the dragon slightly quick, because archer tower doubled their aspd, right? You know it :)

Very bad against hogs. What you are probably thinking is: Having a double giant bomb in my base automatically stops any type of hog attack. Unfortunately, that is not true. Your hog pathing leads to the giant bombs getting set off one by one. So a large wall of hogs from the top of the base would simple demolish it. Another good way to destroy it, would be to use a GoWiPe from the top, taking advantage of the small compartments, and destroying the center compartment. Once the center compartment is down, the giant bombs will be de-activated, and you could send hogs on the back-end of the base for the 3 star.

sorry mate, but dragloon wrecks this base. 3 zaps on any of the ADs with a funneled drag attack on another AD and to top it off - a CC loon attack on the final AD. The pathing to your ADs by loons is very fast, only one defensive building in between. A properly timed deployment of CC loons after the AD has locked onto drags will lead to a 3 star.

I completely agree with this. The way you should set up your bombs is to have almost like a mini hog ring of defenses leading the hogs outwards and then back inwards towards the dgb. The way I would improve this dgb is to move the archer tower out a space or two, then the hogs get forced outwards and trip both bombs at once. :thumbsup:
