I am currently at Town Hall 6, and all I need to upgrade are my walls. And sometimes, when I am designing my village/base, I always try to decide which would be a better strategy - (a) placing the stronger walls in the exterior of the base or (b) placing the stronger walls in the interior of the base. Please... I need advice about this. Thank You SC for this great game. :)
I like to put my stronger walls on the exterior. If the enemy reaches your core, the fight is almost over anyway and your upgraded walls will have less of an impact.
A sensible attacker will bring wall breakers to open the exterior walls, but they will not last all the way into the core; I recommend placing your stronger walls in the interior, as the wall breakers won't be able to preemptively blast them.
Exterior walls will always be broken into if the attacker is smart and brings wb. If the attacker gets through your 2nd layer, you're basically screwed, high level walls in your core or not. So, I'd say do your 2nd layer first :)

I don't know if it is a good plan or not but I tend to put my strongest walls at junctions between different walls first since it seems like many giants at least tend to attack there first. I usually do the interior junctions, then the exterior junctions. Once all my junctions are upgraded then I upgrade the core walls first.
depends on your base, but generally the core first is the better option. For my TH9 base, I have a large core with heroes to draw them inside for an "easy looking" 1 or 2 star. But then they are surrounded by ll of my defenses with a core of high lvl walls trapping them where no WB can bail them out.
