Name Change

Supercell shouldn't have added this "One Time Name Change" feature to the game. It doesn't only make you feel bad for changing your name to something worse, but it also forces you to stay away from the Clan Chat just because some mates humiliate you for your new name.

Moreover, if you now indeed have a player tag, then why can't you just have the chance of changing your name more than once ? For example, a TH 5 gets to change his name once, a TH 8 twice and a TH 10 thrice. Then at least he has the chance of reverting his name. Or else just remove this feature in your next update and change everyone's names back to original.

Please think about this Supercell. :( :( :(

Name change was made if you want to fix your name to a better one :/ if you feel your name is good already, then you dont need to change it!

The only thing bad about the name change is its only one time. I dont think people should be able to change their name at will but there should be an option to change again, either for a cost or after some period of time has passed (like 6 months).

Some people did not read the release notes or did not understand about the one time only. They thought they could do it again. Then they changed it to something really dumb and are stuck with it. I have been laughing at their stupidity but I do feel for them a little bit.

Being able to change it after a mentioned time period (like you said 6 months) or at a cost, is still better than to never having an option to change it. Plus, the player tag isn't there only for one change in name.

SC has given you a chance to change your name to a BETTER ONE. They aren't forcing you to change it. It's an optional thing whether you want to change it or not. Now for the second quote, "you feel you have just turned it into one which is worse?" You can't understand words, do you? Read the quote below... CAREFULLY!!

You can just tell your clanmates that you changed your name rather than being humiliated because of the new name.
TELL YOUR CLANMATES YOU CHANGED IT RATHER THAN PROPOSING TO REVERT THE NAME-CHANGING UPDATE!

You've got so much complaints about the Name-Changing update, do you? If you're really depressed about the update, just ignore it and don't think about it.

A lot of guys said they made bad choices when they chose their names at the beginning because they did not realize it was going to be forever. So SC has generously granted a change to learn from the mistake and this time make a good decision.
- Those that still made a bad decision on their do over have shown their pattern of not learning and are likely to continue making bad decisions. There is no helping them.
- Those can never stop thinking of other names and wishing they could use that one instead will never settle on one that they can be happy with for the long term and so there is no helping them.
- Guys that are just toxic and keep ruining their reputation under a given name will still be toxic after the name change and will just ruin their reputation again. There is no helping them.

The last one is irrelevant.

What good will it do you if you tell them? If anything, that humiliates you even more.

Yeah, thanks for your responses. It was my bad. I'll have to get over it. I just realised that my new name is not THAT bad though. :)

But now my IGN and Forum Name are different :3

I agree with you. In my case, my little sister went on my phone and changed my name to something I don't like and now I am stuck with that name forever. This issue caused many problems for me such as not talking in clan chat as much because I don't want people to see my embarrassing name. I also have thought about quitting because of this but I have hope that supercell will fix this. I don't want to quit because I am a well upgraded th 11 and this is my favorite game. Supercell if you are reading this, you need to fix this issue by adding more name changes!

, no effense , but i argue its the big limit for players to change name just once ` beside when you can change your name at th lvl 5 you will do that and then you Regret for what you did , i just suggest as a member of this game to offer the players change name in up lvls like 80 or 90 , or change name for twice atleast for ever , because now i have issue with my name i creat my name and now im regret , please do something

Only problem with this is the possibility of the ex member that causes horrible problems and kicked players a year ago can change his name and we will never know. I'm all for this as long it shows past names in their profile.

so you dont wanna take consider that change name for 1 last time in who knows new updates ?
