When should i upgrade to th9?

I'm not really trying to 'rush'. I'm just trying to distinguish between the 'best' time to upgrade to th9 and the 'good' time to upgrade to th9. Thanks you guys for your helpful answers

I had the same questions when I was going from TH8 to TH9 a few months back.
As per advice from all the others here, it does seem slow but take your time and enjoy TH8.

I think TH8 is the best Town Hall level in the game.

I stayed and maxed my town hall 8, troops and defences (everything) but that's because I was having so much fun at TH8 and knew that TH9 would be a grind with tons of expensive upgrades etc.

As TH8, I was making very good impact in Clan Wars for our clan.
As my troops were getting maxed for TH8, 3 starring bases became easier.
And after all, that is what you clan mates will thank you for.

In the end even if you don't max out defences like walls, try to max out your troops. It will definitely help you at TH9.

Upgrade all elixir things and your splash damage and whatever you can do before you run out of elixir upgrades and then go to lv 9. The AQ is awesome and with lv 6 giants, lv 6 archers and some wallbreakers and goblins you can get to crystal 3/2 easily and have good loot. not 300k (not that often) but 150-170k of each happens quite often.

Im mid th 9 myself and I whished I had upgraded those last elixir (pekka and balloon) troops because now im in a tight spot having to upgrade golems and Pekka's etc and the baloon upgrades took forever.

upgrading your BK as much as possible before going to TH9 is a grand idea as well. lv 5 is sweet but at lv 10 it becomes truely awesome.
