When should i upgrade to th9?

Hi i am new to the forums and would like to know when should i upgrade to th9?
I know that the best way is to max my defenses but i feel like that would take too long and i want to make a better impact on my clan. I want to unlock the new defenses and troops availible at th9 also. So when would it be a suitable time to upgrade to th9? I've also heard that people rushing to th9 is generally more ahead than the people that max th8 before moving to th9. And when i mean rush i dont mean like super rushed just maybe th7-8 defenses at th9 and pink walls kind of rush.

You better impact your clan by not rushing, taking pekkas lvl 1 to th9 isn't helping your clan all that much imo.

Maxing as much as possible is helpful, not rushing.

Have patience. If you upgrade too early, you will just be that much further behind and will always be struggling to play catch up. You'll want the new toys, but they will be tougher to get as a new th9. Loot is there, but it's not as easy to get or keep -especially if your defenses are lacking. Sure, you unlock some new troops... but what good are those new troops when your others aren't leveled up? You will still be attacking lower level players and dropping down on the war map. You won't be helping yourself or your clan by doing this. In my opinion, you need to disregard any of the 'how to rush' guides and anyone else telling you to go for it. Continue upgrading your troops and you'll have plenty of time to finish your defenses and walls.

How do you figure you wont be helping your clan if you max your offense and not your defense before jumping to the next TH? He'll have the offense to take out the higher end of his range and maybe even a lower TH ahead of him.

And if he's a good farmer who raids frequently he'll be able to upgrade as he goes. And when he logs off and has little resources to give its not like he's going to get crushed.

I think you should read up on the rushing guides to see what they're actually saying.

To answer the OP's question, I would max your offense before moving up to the next TH

I never said he wouldn't be helping his clan if offense was maxed and defense wasn't. Look at his troops... His war troops are low level. If he moves to TH9, he will have low level troops and lower level defenses. Tell me how this helps? He has Level 1 Golems and Pekkas... MAYBE he can drag attack a TH7 for 3 or even get 3 on a low level TH8... but he's definately not 3 staring higher level TH8's with those troops. If he rushes to TH9, he'll be dropping way down to add stars if he can.

So... If he takes the time to level up his troops, as I said, he'll have plenty of time to upgrade those defenses as well.

Gotcha, I misread some of your post (my apologies I'm at work). With that said, I agree that he should max his offense before toying with the idea of moving on.

Rushing needs to be a cooperative decision between you and your clan. Rushing for defenses is pretty much always a bad move. Rushing for offense can work out well if everyone understands and is on board.

By rushing for offense you will be advancing your base offensively, but not defensively. As you advance your base (either defensively or offensively) you will increase the difficulty of opponents you pull in. However by rushing for offense you increase your offense and increase the overall difficulty of the defenses your clan faces in their mirrors.

The more you do this, the further up the war map you need to hit to make things balance out. Looking at your base, you are unlikely to have a major impact since you are already close to max TH8, and would only be going to TH9 slightly early. Assuming that you know how to attack in clan wars currently and are fairly low on the war map (if you can't attack up due to lack of bases, you may hurt your clan), you should be an asset to your clan.

However, your war troops could use some improvement. I would encourage you to level Balloons to 5 before starting the upgrade, and then Hogs to 4 while the TH/Lab in 9 is upgrading

I agree with the impact to the clan by not rushing but pekkas? Really?? I never used a pekka in war and will never use it. There are a lot of superior attacks than the 2 star GOWIPE.

Hi, I've read some of your replys and yes i will be uprading my balloons to 5. My golems are current;y upgrading to lvl 2. I am not sure about pekkas though. Maybe if i can i will upgrade to lvl 3 before upgrading th. I average 5-10 raids a day so i'm not sure if i'm a extreme farmer or not.
