derby...how can something going so good be made to go so wrong?
What have you done to derby? Are we the only nh who thought it was fine? People in my nh are now struggling to find tasks cos all the ones we get are low points. We are a fairly new nh who have won every derby do far and had a good strategic plan going.
This new update is causing friction in the group...winding people up and frankly making people have feelings that they use hd to escape from in real life!
IMO it wasn't broken so why did you try to fix?
Also I know its in another thread but that jumping task board causes trashing mistakes...very frustrating!
Need more high point non-time-limited crop and harvest tasks
We have also not been impressed with the recent task and visual design changes to the Derby.
In our opinion, the Derby Destruction was 100% self-inflicted by SuperCell tweaks, and is TOTALLY FIXABLE (if SuperCell wishes).
In our NH we are also saddened by the lack of high or even reasonably-pointed harvest tasks without short time-limits for our folks who relied on those because their schedules allow only for infrequent game play while on brief breaks at work.
My husband is struggling with his 2nd fishing task in a row, because the harvest tasks he relied on cannot be finished in the time he has to farm.
We also agree that the Derby "fixes" have harmed the fun.
The bouncing task board CONTINUES to make me seasick, but as eloquently posted in another thread, it is a real danger to more medically fragile folks.
SC HELP US!!!
Agree 100% -disbanded neighborhood

This particular derby has been so onerous for our small NH, that this morning, with a sense of sadness mixed with relief, we're pulling out of this derby and taking our champion home to enjoy life on the farm.
Our NH has had so much fun in the previous derbies. We absolutely loved them.
The original set-up was so much fun, we couldn't wait, our champion was chomping at the bit, to get started in another derby run.
This one, if we would hope to win horseshoes and have a chance at the new decos or to do well, was set up with the point system so the tasks to focus on ended up being boat and fishing tasks.
Due to time constraints and these tasks, we were filling boats that we normally would have cast off, waking during the night to make more lures, and to fish while up ... there were no good crop or animal tasks to give us breaks to make lures, restock, rest, enjoy RL... That's harmful stress - not play or fun to us.
The bouncing task board, with the resultant negative health impacts, sealed this decision for us.
We don't think of ourselves as quitters, yet, when something causes stress or negatively impacts health, that's the time for us to pack it up.
With regret and relief, we're off to farm as we did before the derby, and to use derby time to enjoy the Spring and RL.
It is our hope that the derby will be tweaked well, so that it is fun to play, again. If so, "We'll be back!"
We wish everyone successful and fun derbies!
With love from our NH to you all!:caticon::heart::heart::heart:
this exactly matches our feeling. We were not having fun and the entire nature of the game changed. We were leading again after winning all our previous derbies, but by mutual unanimous agreement we disbanded our neighborhood and went back to peaceful quiet farming.
no one else has mentioned it.
Something else the day off does that I don't think anyone has thought of. it gives SC a day to push changes to the derby without screwing with the ongoing derby. IE tweak the task points or prize wheel or time limits or whatever they need to tweak without having it hit mid derby. of course it's only been a week so we haven't seen any changes as of yet but it does give them a window.
Here's to hoping they use it.
Derby has turned our friendly little NH into a battle zone
My first post in the forums :o please be kind......
We were once this little group of farmers happily helping each other out when we could. Many farmers have high paced jobs or lifestyles that do not afford the luxury of playing hours on end, which was fine for the NH. Farm Life was good. Farmers could chose to dismiss boats, visitors, trash or ignore the truck delivery board and it only affected them. Not the NH.
And then came the derby.
It was something new. The first couple weeks were fun, but into the third week it became apparent that being a full NH we were up against other full NH's. Some of the farmers who could play more, and successfully complete their 5 tasks began to resent their co-farmers who could not. Now these "hobby farmers"; and former team mates are seen as big heavy rocks (by some) around the neck of the NH holding us back from ever being in the top 3. Tempers have flared. Harsh words mumbled. (It looked like ******* but we knew what was said).
This has has driven a wedge into the NH and a stake through my heart (as the NH leader). No one joined the NH way back when with the understanding that there would be forced participation in a weekly event. As the leader I am at my wits end. Either I kick some very good farmers out for not being able to contribute 100% week after week after week, or some very good farmers leave because they want the prizes. The derby has become a game changer for us.... and not in a good way. Sometimes I think I will just hide in the barn until the derby horses die from exhaustion running week after week.......thanks for letting me vent.....
