derby...how can something going so good be made to go so wrong?

This reminds me of the period during the Christmas/New Years events last winter when everyone in Finland went on vacation and nobody was minding the shop. 3/4 of the threads in the forums revolved around elements of a single feature and for weeks there were ZERO little Supercell logos indicating that staff had responded. (And Nick should have backup so he can go on vacation.)

Hi, you guys up in the frozen north! Is this another traditional "everybody bail out of the office" time because the glaciers have receded?

I'm one who would like to say THANKS for the day of rest between derbies.

My big question is...will Hay Day continue to drift in a competitive direction? Do your data support that or is the excitement of the derby limited to a small percentage of farmers?

All of my NH are glad to have the day off. Our farms are usually a wreck after a derby, so it's nice to have that day of restoration and restocking. Thank you SC for that real improvement! Thank you for planning to fix the bouncing derby board, another meaningful fix.

I have no problem with new point system. If everyone always chooses tasks worth 350 points, then all groups would always be tied. The variety and scarcity of high points keeps it interesting and entails some degree of strategy. Should I do one only worth 150 points now so I do not run out of time while waiting for higher points, that kind of thing. It was almost too easy before, pick 300 + point, finish, pick another. Now I have to consider days left, do I want to wait or start now with lower points so I can finish all 5.

The bouncing thing, Nick has said somewhere that it will be fixed. does not bother me as much as others, then again, I do not do major trashing. That said, Nick said it was going to be fixed, so enough said.

The one aspect that I would like changed is the time element of the harvest tasks. Much too short for anyone with a real life, and not necessary. Leave the tasks, just have them all to end of derby please.

I know this has been said before. Even said before by me. However, I think important enough to repeat.

This is highly unlikely. The probability for a NH to pick the same exact tasks for it to end up in a tie is slim to none especially for bigger NHs.

I'm currently working on my 3rd fishing task. Why? Cuz I want those high points to come out on top. Maybe it's my problem for being highly competitive but if I'm going to participate, I might as well finish first. The lack of other high harvesting tasks is forcing me to focus on one area of the game, which right now, is fishing. So yea, there's a huge problem with the new point system...for me at least.

Players who don't care about winning the derby may not see the change as significant, but for players who want to win, this new point system is a drag.

✋ Boats here. 66 for derby alone. 2,160 points. Yes I bought a 6th task because I like doing them. Lowest point task was 330 for 10 boats and highest was 390 for 12. A HUGE thank you to all my nh & friends for helping me get them done! Thank You all!!


I did/do like the derby but with that yoyo bobbing scoreboard/task list and the super low crop points I would like it to be tweaked back the way it was.

I love boats! I would do nothing but boat tasks all derby long (like Besta, wow!) but I'm broke :(, got the resources in the barn to do them but don't have the diamonds in the bank to speed them up :p

May I borrow some? Pay u back with interests :D

In every derby before I've always done at least two 11 or 12 boat tasks...this derby, the best that's came down the river for me so far has been one for 9. I honestly feel that I've done nothing for my NH even tho there's a mining & a top town task behind me, & a board full of sorry tasks ahead.

If anyone sees those big boats, send some my way too!

I appreciate the sentiment expressed here, but to be quite honest, it will not work for me.

Real life is full of unreasonable demands, sudden unpleasantness, and loads of just small yuck that I have no control over. No complaints, that's being an adult, but sometimes a body needs recovery time and a way to feel like they're moving forward in some small way.

Hay Day used to be a relaxing diversion I could retreat into, particularly after a tough day, and excel at with the tap of a finger. As stupid as it may sound, some days the biggest accomplishment I could point to as an achievement in the game, and that was an important de-stressor for me.

The changes in the derby have brought all of those stresses into the game, complete with unreasonable demands on my time and resources, unfair compensation for work done, AND the feeling of letting down my friends if I don't unreasonably overextend and exhaust myself. It is not the same to opt out of like trucks or boats.

This used to be a relaxing farming game that I could feel accomplished doing in my leisure time, even with the derby. The task revamping ruined that. Without overextending myself, I can now only be mediocre to poor. No more feeling of accomplishment, no more de-stressing.

For myself, if the tasks remain painful and NOT FUN, I will simply stop playing altogether. That is not a threat or a flounce, it is simply a fact, and it is because of why I choose to play in the first place.

My neighbourhood has won every derby. It is not that I do not care about winning. We won last week as well, and i did not change my playing style - except for harvesting tasks. Since all neighbourhoods are facing the same problem with few high point tasks, we have a level playing field. If the harvesting tasks were corrected, I do not think people would mind the present point system as much. The present harvesting tasks, with their unrealistic time restraints, are fuelling most of the problems we are having in my neighbourhood.
