The Game is Now Divided - Casuals vs Hardcore (Maxed out bases)

From the feedbacks on the update thread, it is evident there are two group of people in Clash of Clans now..

1. First group are those hardcore players who celebrate clan wars, and the chance at 3 stars with lavahounds, they are usually gemmers, and maxed out bases. They hate this update because its just 2 stars war now. GoWipe is almost impossible to 3 star, now lavaloons are also almost impossible.
2. Second group are those casual players who are maxed out, usually not gemmers, do not play for 3 stars, settle with 2 stars. They love this because they have been 3 starred by lavahounds for a long time.

What do you think?

I'm no where near max th10 :smirk:

I dont understand how a defense that covers 25% of a base is ruining to "hardcore players". Seems to me that they just want to complain early instead of adapting and hitting around the new defense.

Edit: Which ever way the Air Sweeper is facing just hit from the opposite side.

I'm neither. I think the sweeper can be a real pain, but it is also very limited and can be worked around. Speculating of course, I haven't even started building the thing yet. But I also don't hate it. I typically attack by air, so in that regard it's a nuisance, but my base doesn't usually fall to air attacks.

I think the two kind of people here are those who can accept change and adapt to new things, and those who are butthurt cause they didn't get what they wanted out of the update.

Because you simply arent a th10 maxed base yet, and have not tried 3 starring against a th10 maxed base either. You will never understand the difficulty before the update, and will never understand the difficulty after the update now.

Please tell me more. There are PLENTY of other strategies out there you can use. Just because you dont want to learn or dont know other strats doesnt mean there isnt other ways out there. Im affected as anyone else is, just because I dont have infernoes doesnt really bother me. Youre acting like you attack max townhall 10s all the time ♥♥♥♥♥.

The casual players would always lose to the hardcore players. It is mainly for the hardcore players that this update benefits since it mixes up the otherwise monotonous play as maxed bases doing clan wars.
Since you wouldn't believe me I took a look at the clan wars subforum and looked at the 'hardcore' players:

"I've been playing this game since the beginning. I have a th10 and a th8.

By late game the attacks you can make on a th10 are very limited. Hogs, Giants, and Valks all become high risk due to heal being a less efficiant spell thanks to inferno towers. So while many people go to th10 looking for more options, the reality is that they are now much more limited in what they can do at war.

You basically have about 2 choices. Lavaloonion, GOWIPE, or maybe a moded GOWIPE. Now you can plan your strategy for the drop all day, but against a good th10 your success ratio is pretty similar to flipping a coin. Maybe it works perfect, maybe it crashes and burns for a 32% 0 star. Now the first year I had a th10 that was ok I guess, but at this point it's just plain stale. I have been hoping for some new units to breath some life into this game for a long time. I figured since SUPERCELL is pulling $millions daily they really shouldn't have any trouble on this.....
I was wrong.

Instead of adding something to improve creativity in the game, they added yet another defensive tower that actually reduces the success rate of half your war army options. SUPERCELL's updates should give a player more to play with. More options for strategys and attacks that got us into the game in the first place. Instead we are seeing things like Heal being shut down by inf towers(why? They weren't strong enough allready!?) Or the windmill throwing a wrench into the lavaloonion. And for the record the Lavaloonion is not an easy 3 star attack on a well developed th10. Between cc, traps, infs, AD, and high lvl queen, it's darn near impossable.

Realy hoping some new units are the way.

I'm bummed out at the loss of war attack variety, just have to go back to boring golems every freakin time.

Nicely said...Its was next to impossible to 3 star a TH 10 but now it's impossible...

Feel the difference between next to impossible and impossible...

Actually there is a very this line separating good 3 star attack to an average 2 star regular orthodox attack... And this update has erased even that this line... :(...
