new air defense

To help defend against dragon raids, there should be a defense called "black arrow." The black arrow is so strong, it will kill the dragon with a single hit. This defense should be updated similar to air defense; level 1-one arrow th8. Level 2 - 2 arrows, th8 maxed. level 3-3 arrows, th9+ maxed. It do not keep shooting like the air defense does. For example, level one black arrow has one arrow. If you raid with 9 dragons, one will die first hit leaving you with 8. It shoots that one arrow and that's it. No more arrows until upgrade.

Yeah this or even just some sort of air sweeper thingie.

They already made a new air defence.

This has to be a troll post right? Make a defense that completely ruins any utility of a troop type?

Here are some:

The Stone Breaker:

It shoots a single shot that after it hits it then does area effect damage. It one hit's golems, the the AoE damage kills the golemites.

Witches Bane

It specifically targets witches and kills them in one shot, then all her summoned units go back into the ground.

This wouldn't defend against dragon raids, it would completely end them. You might as well post and say "My idea is to remove the dragon completely from the game". That would be just as nonsensical, but at least be slightly better than a defense that completely eliminates all dragons.

I like this idea,
say it does 20 damage times 100 vs dragons...so it can kill a dragon 1 shot

but, to keep it balanced it should only target ground troops

@idea ... if you read the replies closely, other users already pointed out that the Air Seeking Mine already does pretty much exactly what you are describing.

a defence tower or trap that targets only one specific troop type deserves all the ridicule that can possibly be heaped on it.

if a troop is so op that it requires a defence dedicated solely to it...then the troop needs nerfed....and I don't think the dragon needs nerfed

@ uth - first, air seeking mines don't kill a dragon, it significantly weakens it, if the dragon is fully healed. Second air seeking mines have a short attack range, as for the black arrow, it has a wider target range.

At this point, you could just say "seeking air mines should do more damage and have a wider target range" or "seeking air mines should have a wider range and preferred target (x2 damage) against dragons."

Maybe you should use your maniacal idea brain to think of some other ideas huh?

OP doesn't seem to get that it is very similar to the Seeking Air Mine, and that it would, in fact, effectively end dragon raids.


Only difference is the Seeking Air Mine doesn't entirely kill a dragon, but at 1500 damage it does take a huge chunk of life off. And you get 1 at TH7, 2 at TH8, and 4 at TH9, when you can also start upgrading them so they do 1800 damage a pop.

Now most TH9 and 10 players don't really use dragons anyway because they have better options, but think about what it does at TH8...it's already hard enough to 3 star a max TH8 with level 3 dragons, and now you're essentially eliminating 2 of the 10 or 11 drags TH8 player has in their army, which will likely turn what is generally a solid 2 star and sometimes 3 star option into a mostly 1 star option against TH8s...meaning that dragons would more or less only be good for attacking TH7 and below.

It may not kill all the dragons, but if I knew that your black arrow was going to kill some of my dragons, which looks like 2 at TH8, then I wouldn't use them at all because 8 dragons vs 10 is significantly different. How about we implement it, and make the reload of the black arrow cost 100K DE. Instead of JUST dragons, however, I say it should target dragons AND goblins. Then I am on board for your plan.

OP is apparently tired of getting pummeled by dragons.



I can already see the chain of events:

Black arrow defense added > TH8 attackers stop using dragons, switch to hogs > OP starts getting pummeled by hogs, suggestions giant bombs now deal 3x damage to hogs.

Well duh, of course people will build it. What we are all telling you though is that it would RUIN dragons, particularly for TH8.

We just got a new air defense, and the air defense is pretty balanced against same level air attacks, with the exception of TH7 vs dragons. This air sweeper might help, and others have suggested giving TH7 a second SAM, but your suggestion is just too much power for air defense, particularly against dragons.

No. Not going to use copyrighted material, nor make a spoof of it.

And 'no' on putting an addon to an existing building in-game as well. Supercell wants to keep things simple and intuitive, and something like this is basicly neither.

Am I reading it right that it has limited ammo that can't be refilled until upgrade again? How is that even fun? You make something that is 'too awesome to use' and will rarely ever be used, rendering it useless.

Look, a new Air Defense building was just introduced, so give that a look at how it sates your hate of how dragons are used before making more wild ideas.

And keep those ideas at least on par with what is currently in game. Don't overthink an idea to try to make CoC work with the idea, and instead make it work with CoC. If you want something akin to what you are asking, you likely need a new building to house the feature. Like maybe have a Sharpshooter Tower, or have a combo idea of Arcane Archer Dark Elixir unit, and complimentry defence tower for them to be standing on, with both specialized in low rate of fire, but high spike damage hits, perfect for taking out those high hp troops, but weak verse mobs of troops.

It sound a bit like I want the "Win" button added.
Did you notice there is also a button called "Attack", I'm sure you've never used it.
Waiting for those pumps and mines to fill to upgrade your defenses.
But doh, the others keep stealing my resources.

@ warren, first, it dont necessarily have to be called black arrow. U can call it the golden steel blade for all I care. 2, when I say limited, It means it dont constantly keep shooting arrows like the air defense. Level one, shoots one arrow per defense.

1. It was still gimmicky, and you could have picked a different name from the start. Could have said inspired by <other thing> and gave a CoC rendition of it.
2. Doesn't matter. It is a limited resource that will get depleted and that would be it. You are forced to upgrade. There is no such a mechanic in CoC, nor can I see SC putting one in. Unless you mean a limited amount per attack on your base, which makes it either awkward, at best operating like a free trap, to out right OP and imbalanced.

When upgrading troops or defences, check how much of an increase they gain. That small change is enough for a TH8, once upgraded, to be able to 3 star most TH7 villages. Doesn't take much, does it? My base is setup to mostly handle 'cheap' TH9 raiding armies, which means any TH8 doing the same, but with lower level troops, is going to very likely wind up with a loss. And TH8s have attacked like that, and lost too.

Lastly, there is no Insta-kill effect that takes on anything that is over 15 housing units in size. Those units are just costly, and such an effect would shift balance around way too much. You are asking for, in effect, a shootable spring trap vs strong air units. That would be a nightmare to balance if added in game, and for what gain? Just easier and more fun to do something else, which SC just did.

Funny how u sit here and bash this idea, but applaud the air sweeper which basically do not work. Im in a war now, every base with an air sweeper still got destroyed. Why? Easy, deploy dragons in its blind spot. ♥♥♥♥.

wow...you mean that in a hasty rush to get them into their bases they might not have figured the best way to use them on the first day they are available?

OP requests this defense to Supercell because tired of dragons overrunning his poor base... Supercell adds it.
OP then gets smashed by gowipe. Supercell changes it to attack golems too.
OP then gets lavalooned. Supercell changes it to attack lava hounds.
See a pattern?
Also there is no such thing as an "anti dragon" or "anti troop". All ideas that say it should target specifically one troop type should read up the mechanics of this game.
Your idea is just saying "Lower the amount of army camp space when attacking with dragons". You want 180 troop space for dragons and 200 everything else. And it stays the same all the way up to th10 because it is upgradable.

Also, like many other had said, THIS IS AN SAM.

Mass-Drags Strategy's useless.
I've seen a lot of people requesting for Anti-whatever stuff for CoC such as...

1. "Lightning Rod" - Anti-Lightning Spell (No more DE Zappers! Yeehaw~!)
2. "Stone Breaker" - Anti-Golem/Golemites (No more Golems! Woohoo~!)
3. Now this, the "Black Arrow" - Anti-Dragons (Say goodbye to the Mass-Drags Strategy! Yay!!)

So I am guessing the creatorof this thread is constantly attacked by mass drags or dragoon and their base is always 100%ed
