War attacks, post update - good news!

So, this is a good news/bad news post that also belongs on the War forum.

We are in a war with a 130 win clan that started about 6 hours before the update. That's the bad news as they were very efficient prior to the update in putting up 3 stars all over the place.

The good news is, after the update they have become much less efficient, even taking into consideration the attack positions on the map. Between the update and the maintenance patch, their lowest player had an attack start and end in about 20 seconds. No troops launched, even thought the player had a full army. Disconnects usually go the full 3 mins, so that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe they asked that player to test the system to see if they could use their entire bag of tricks still?

If what I suspect happened did happen, then +1 on the update. Thank you Supercell.

edit - or was this an issue that was fixed with the maintenance break? Was there no way to hit attack and then back out?

Same thing just happened in my war. Perhaps just someone attacking and trying to back out, but could have been up to something sinister.

Previously, pressing attack to check for gaps and drop points was a legit strategy. It's possible some people didn't read the update notes and tried to back out of an attack, but now it is counted as a loss.

I'm curious how this is going to work. If I 2 star with my troops and dont deploy my heroes and go to back out I lose the match and no stars? How about just waiting out the time?

surrendering after you gained two stars, will finish your attack as a two star attack.

This appears to be a bug in the game since the update, we have had two happen like that in our current war, not great!

A good point, I'll have to search around and see if this was answered by SC.

Even in war, if I'm hitting a max base in war... once I get the 2 star, if my heros are in good shape I'll quit cause I want to start farming after and not wait for them to wake up.

If they pressed attack and then backed out and it counted the attack, that's not a bug. That's the new feature where you are committed once you press attack.

So is ghosting gone now? I almost can't believe it. :D:cool:

the update stated, that once an attack was initiated, there was no other way to end it then surrendering.

When you surrendered previously after gaining 1 or 2 stars, that is what you ended up with.

Remember, the examples being touted are of 0% attacks, which most likely preludes into :heart::heart::heart:ing.

Or 2 people in your clan may have been sandbox users (without your knowledge)......

Cant comment on the opposition clans failed raid, but the one on our side didn't back out, as far as I'm aware anyway.

I think they want to stop this so you'll boost ur heroes. I would do the same if I'm doing back to back attacks and wanna put a hero down. Saves some time so I only have to boost spells. Might have someone in my clan guinea pig this lol

Yes this change was awesome and am so glad to see this loophole being patched up. It might not fix it 100% but it wont be easy anymore.
