I disagree, it would be fun. It wouldn't make the game easier because you would be able only to attack your own village "not higher/lower level defenses", it would also still be a mystery what the enemy would have in the clan castle. It would only help someone to find new combination of troops and ways to make there bases, i am pretty sure if you have been playing this game for a year and haved attacked like a lot of times doesn't mean the game becomes easy for him.

It would just be cool to make something like this, if it is indeed not smart to make it because of all the things you mention, at least a self generating base option to attack would be considerable.
