Should I upgrade my Town Hall to level 9?

Hi guys,
I posted a post about this week ago, and decided to upgrade my TH yesterday, so I would have done it today, exept for the update.
Now that elixir is back on walls, elixir will not be wasted anymore, but there have also been matchmaking changes, amongst others. So is it still a good idea to completely max TH8?
All my defences are maxed apart from 1 Tesla, all Archer Towers, and 2 Cannons, which are all one off max. All elixir upgrades are maxed apart from lightning spell (lvl 4) and my 2nd Dark barracks (lvl 3).
Dark elixir upgrades:
Minions: lvl 3
Hogs: lvl 2
Valkyries & Golems: lvl 1
BK: lvl 8
I have 4 Builders, but am close to getting a 5th.
Walls are at 30 lvl8, rest lvl 7.
I am wondering whether to upgrade to TH9 soon or not.
I am fairly active, but I never have too much gold or elixir, so I only upgrade walls when I choose to.
Whenever I ask people on global, they always say 'max your walls first' etc but I have almost finished my elixir upgrades, just lightning spell and my 2nd Dark Barracks lvl 4, so my elixir will be wasted.
Is it really worth it to press on with all my walls, or should I upgrade when all my defences are done, or go now?
I would also love to be able to use lavaloonion
Thanks for your advice, but please only answer if you are TH9 or above.

I'd do as much wall as you can. You get 50 more bits at TH9 and the defences are a lot more expensive so it seems a lot more to do if you have lots of purple left. In my clan we try and make people max skull wall so they can donate loads of wizards/dragons to everyone else! :D It's like a right of passage, I'd definitely finish off your defences before you go up. People in our clan who go up to TH9 too quickly spend ages on it, where as I completed it in 3 months (NI wall ;) )

A few problems with your post:
You only get 25 walls at TH9.
As of today's update, you can upgrade lvl 7-8 walls with elixir. (Which is, admittedly, more of a reason for staying at TH8, but you don't end up giving wizards and dragons to everyone:).)
Also, you have just listed the cons, what about the archer queen, DE drills lvl 4-6, lvl 6 troops and more troop space and finally LavaLoin in war (though that did just get nerfed.)

I say bang out some more walls while you're finishing up your elixir upgrades and get DE research done on at least the troops you think you'll want to use. And there is a correction on the elixir for walls thing, that was a bug with the update and you can no longer use elixir for walls below level 9. I won't say to max your walls at TH8 while wasting elixir but at least get a good chunk of them done before moving to TH9. I think I moved with my skulls about two-thirds of the way complete.

Upgrade your hogs, tesla, & archer towers while your TH upgrades. Should leave you with 1 extra builder for walls for you to use your resources on upgrading while you wait those 10 days for TH9.

I will certainly do as much as I can while it upgrades, but I need to have full storages when it finishes. Also, I won't upgrade hogs, I don't use them, and I need all the DE I can get for AQ. If I can get instant lvl 2, all the better. :)
