It is true for me and my clan being mostly TH8. Doesn't matter if you're silver or gold, it's quite harder to find equal targets with loot since update and also being wiped totally because there are so many TH9 and TH10 popping up these days. And pls don't tell me that a TH8 is not supposed to be in gold but a TH9 or TH10 is. However I already had a fair gameplay by attacking and defending mostly TH8 in gold before update.Quote:

I still barch storages in the first layer of walls and hit collectors after the update. I am often surprised by the failed gibarch and barch attacks on a rushed TH9 base. I use Orz's Singularity base, so I always have either free gold or elixir that's barchable. It depends on what I am saving for at the moment.
They deploy their entire army around the base, when there are 4 elixir storage with 350k+ on offer. After the first wave dies, they are out of luck.
Other attackers take everything by sending 3-5 waves of 10 barbs/archers only by the storage to take it all.
Then, there are the guys that ignore the clan castle. The attacking troops are distracted by CC archers, while defenses take them out. Other guys are smart enough to lure out my CC and take out the storages on the edge of the base.
It seems to me that all the very positive threads about matchmaking comes from ppl who are "pro member" or some paid coc person to smooth things down.
folks, one thing is clear, it isn't going to change. This is all about getting you to spend gems. If they wanted just to protect lower ths all they would have had to do was increase the loot penalty, they didn't. The fact that Ive been I the same league forever and the hit rate on me has gone from once and hour or so or more, to being hit within 5 minutes of signing off (and every 2 min after that til I finally get a shield.. Not even giving me time to get cc or rearm traps) says they have changed a lot.
it means that you either have to:
buy a shield
gem barracks and never sign off
buy loot
I've always been a monthly gem buyer and never had a problem boosting or topping off my storages if I was very near a goal, but now that they want to force me to, I won't.
all elixer/gold is going into walls and I just sign onto tap collector & to war.
they want to force you new ths to buy your loot, especially if you war & under clan pressure to get your new th to a certain th lvl to war.
i have a baby th6 with full storages outside and it gets hit hours after the shield runs out, so they are cranking up the pressure the higher your th is..ie the more invested you are in the game.
i know they like time spent on game or gems spent, so I'm no longer giving them either

Actually they have done too much catering lower town halls. The benefit and protections given are disproportionate already. This is one of the problem. Lower level town hall players mistook the ease by which they play as the norm for every town hall level. The matchmaking update might be challenging, but it is far more realistic than previous system.Quote:

I still like to play CoC and will keep playing it but since update and farming has become more challenging I also got less active. I'm thinking harder now to break a shield, before new matchmaking I farmed whenever I had a little time and was in "CoC-mood". I also put more effort now in keeping my base dry when I log off with no huge amounts of ressources back in storages. I do upgrades now fitting best with my available ressources, not in an "wish-order" anymore. Like upgrading a cannon although I'd prefer doing wizard-tower first. At least I can avoid total raids by not keeping juicy amounts of ressources unshielded.
