So you want to attack lower players but it's ♥♥ when a higher player attacks you? If you maxed th8 you should have zero problems beating th8s and batching a th9. Point blank this is not a casual game so you prolly need to find a new gameQuote:

The matchmaking in this level for trophies is horrible! If I find a th7 to prey on then I can only get 1 or 2 trophies, I find a th8 I can take, I usually get at max 6 trophies for a wipe, and the majority of the matchups are th9s with 2 xbows. And even against the th9s I'm looking at getting around 15-20 trophies even though there's now way my giant healer archer army stands a chance.
A lot of the time, when I attack the Th8s, if I slip up on 1 of 20 attacks, I drop down 38 trophies and basically lost everything I just raided for minus some.
For instance, last night I gemmed my barracks and level 10 BK. I attacked about ~30 times and actually dropped 100 trophies but won %92.5 of them. (lost because I got frustrated and attacked th9s which I probably shouldn't have and dropped 30 trophies)
Is anyone else experiencing this garbage?
I drop down to crystal 2 and even below 2450 trophies and I again can find th7s worth 15 trophies and th8s I can take for 25 trophies.
Sorry for the rant but it's incredibly frustrating.

EDIT - I just had my shield come up so I went through matchmaking to record.
while nexting I found:
25 - th9 with 2 upgraded xbows
3 - th9 with 1 xbow
1 - th9 with zero xbows
3 - th8 maxed offering 4 to 6 trophys
1 - th8 mid offering 2 trophys - this was the last one i found and attacked getting %68 and 1 trophy. Also 1000 de.
That doesn't make any sense to me as a th8.
18 months ago when I was at a mid level Th8 stage and wanted so badly to get to Masters I couldn't even though I tried twice for a week each time. Over the last 18 months it's been getting easier and easier to reach masters and even now champs for Th8/Th7/Th whatever, all cause there are more and more th snips for them. Th snips take no skill just spamming the next button till you find one.Quote:

I am th9 pretty much average, with 100 exp points. I am thus having to save relatively important resources to upgrade my troops and defenses (currently I have about 5mio in both gold and elixir and 16k in black elixir).

This has not helped and I keep on being devastated by adversaries much stronger than me. Bronze 1, like all other leagues, is full of fully maxed TH 10 who systematically get matched with me.
I really think this new matchmaking makes no sense at all.... All leagues have become equally competitive and there is absolutely no difference anymore between being in crystal or in bronze. This update has essentially anihilated the whole game logic and all possible strategies. It is now impossible to alternate periods of farming with periods of competition for points.
The difficulty of the adversary is pretty much the same at all level and the game has simply turned into a crush of the weaker by the strongest, with no sheltering option being offered.
Frankly, i do hope you fix this soon enough. I am positively disgusted and really think of quitting.
About 20 th9 in my clan. All rich and happy with the new matchmaking, sharing replays. Place your TH outside the walls, decorate with flags e flowers and just wait for the sniper. 1 minute out, you got your shield.
It was working fine for me with the old matching system.
I can't yet fully estimate the new matching system but if it working so far, why break it?
