This is good for some bad for others,
what supercell could do is add a feature for when searching for bases which would be :
Farming - Goes back to the way the searches was before the update
Trophy Hunting/Pushing (or whatever lol) - Then people will find and be attacked by bases similar to them to reduce problems.
this might not be a good idea but i thought it would suit more people than it does now:thumbsup:
Hands down the biggest complaint about the matchmaking is casual players who have farming bases are no longer able to get a shield from TH sniping. But if you can dedicate a block of time and stay on, the loot is great! I'm on vacation, so I decided to boost my barracks and I had an amazing 2 hour looting session.
However, I'm normally a casual (new TH 9, not rushed) player and I'm getting negative profits with my typical looting technique. I'll have an army built, attack a 200k+ base, start building a new army, then sign-out and wait for a shield. The problem, as others have said, is I keep getting attacked multiple times before I get my shield. I have about 3.5M gold and elixer, and I'll be attacked 2-3 times and all together lose 300-400k gold and elixer while waiting to get my shield. People purposely avoid my TH, which is in the corner, outside my walls.
An interesting solution would be to let lower lvl TH's attack you, only for a certain amount of time. This could be done by weighting the probability for how often lower lvl TH's are given the opportunity to attack you as a function of time from when you signed out (i.e., when you first sign out, lot's a lower lvl TH's will see your base, but as time goes on lower lvl TH's will see your base less in the search). This will let lower lvl TH's, who are going for the win bonus, have an opportunity to snipe a high lvl farming base, but low lvl TH searches won't be littered with high lvl trophy bases.
Along with the weighting being a function of time, it could also take into account league lvl. This will give SC the ability to fine tune where high lvl farming bases are (e.g., they could make it so that low lvl TH's almost never see TH 10's that are in the bronze league).
This is just an idea, but I think there needs to be some tweaking to the current update. I understand that it takes time to roll out a new update, and that it's important to let things settle out before tweaking the algorithm, but I hope SC doesn't take too long to do this...
The new matchmaking system is great and so is the loot. At this rate I will max my zaps in no time. I still don't understand why people are complaining.
I posted in here yesterday after about an hour farming. I've just done another 2 hours solid and I can say as a TH8 (currently going to TH9, about 6 days left...
- The loot is amazing. Thank you. A lot less Nexting.
- The DE also seems higher, I guess because I'm coming up against people my own size
- I don't see this 'attacked within 30 seconds' that everyone is talking about. Just waiting 30 minutes with no shield and still wasn't attacked. Needed a shield for war troops
So I think I prefer it now. I might come back complaining when I'm TH9, though.
As a new th9 (I maxed 8), this update is terrible. I get hit within 2 minutes of not having a shield, and every attack is by a strong th10, so no chance of revenge. I doubt I'll ever be able to upgrade troops, because half of the attacks on me don't even give me a shield. I'm losing de, gold, and elixer faster than I can possibly ever gain it.
As a casual gamer I can say that this change has made it harder for me. I rely on being sniped, so I do a raid, go away, come back an hour or two later, when I have time and do another raid. I don’t have time to sit and raid for 2 hours straight, or rarely do.
What seems to have happened is I get sniped less and full attacked more. So I lose resources as well as cups now.
I am also finding that I’m not pressing next any less. As a new TH10 I’m really not in a position to farm strong TH10’s. But they are the ones will all the loot, the weaker premature ones have no loot and most of the offering are still under 100K total.
For me, this has made the game more difficult to play. I’ll probably end up playing less during the day and riding out my shield more. There is really no point in raiding for resources I’m just going to lose the moment I log off.
This update really suck for those who are trying to push! I keep finding th9's who are in crystal even though I have 2950 trophies atm. Most of the time I can only gain 1-4 trophies from them. I also have to next much more to get something ;-(
To people already suggesting changes, you must understand that our current environment is not going to be the end environment.
I've played clash for 2 years and the only other loot related upheaval that really changed Th league distribution was the loot overhaul. Suddenly Th9 could be looted for 350,000 and Th10 400,000. Hog attacks from Th10 to Th9 erupted. This caused all the Th9 in Crystal (can't speak for higher at the time) to suddenly drop as they got smacked around by Th10 players who suddenly could profitably loot them with hogs. Things got a little chaotic but eventually crystal became a fairly dead zone populated mostly by Th10 premiees and snipers.
Then the league bonuses got adjusted and more and more Th9 made the climb into masters. Before that I rarely saw a juice Th9 in Mastes I. Before the matchmaking update it was pretty common (now I have no idea)
So my point is we don't know how this will affect the meta. Players are already trying to find the new farming zones and experiencing major differences in how they find loot.
In this regard acting too soon would be like making a decision with only a small piece of the information

I am not suggesting changes, I am simply stating the obvious. I now need to attack multiple times to gain 20 trophies, whereas before I would have gained 20 in a single raid. Makes pushing a lot more tedious :-(
Understandable though, as SC is a for profit company, they need to change things up to force people to spend more money on gems.
