buying gems-gold-elixer question.

i have "maybe" a noob question that keeps me puzzled and i dont want to disappointed.
im planning to get myself some gems and i want to buy some gold or elixer to be able to build faster.

what puzzles me is the next thing, at the buy gems/gold/elixer screen its writen:
1133 gems , fill storage by half 3.000500 gold or elixer.

if i buy this, will i get 3.000.500 gold or elixer or will it top off my storage to the max off 3.000.500 gold or elixer?
i have now +/- 1.000.000 gold and elixer. so wil i then only get +/- 2mil untill my storage is 3.000.500 or will i get the full 3.000.500 gold or elixer?

maybe its a stupid question but i tried the search the forums and cant find anything about this.

You would waste the excess, but i believe COC gives you a warning message to upgrade your storage beforehand.
but regardless, spend gems on builders and boosting barracks. anything else is a waste

It gives you exactly the amount of resources stated on the button. If your storages are over half full it simply removes the "50% fill" option and leaves only the 10% fill and complete fill options.
