I've never seen something like this before - Is this the true meaning of TH 8.5?

It's called war, and just like in real war, you know what the rules are. This doesn't break them. I really don't see how this is any different from a baited ambush. Might not seem fair when your on the receiving end, but hey, that's what war is all about.

Your trophy count has nothing to do with loot penalty. Loot penalty is designed to keep people from pillaging severely under powered defenses/bases. People who abuse this by pushing defenses up ASAP are benefiting too much, they should implement a loot penalty based on defenses built.



And building defenses ASAP is purposely manipulating the fact that loot penalty is based on TH and not defenses.





It's two sides to the same coin and how you upgrade/progress determines where you have more or less advantage .

:facepalm: Are you just salty cause you .5 and you're being called out on it? I'm guessing it's either that or you're a troll. Loot penalty is designed to protect lower THs from losing as much loot to a higher TH as they do to someone that is their TH level, defenses have absolutely zero play in loot penalty, but nice try. I never said loot penalty had anything to do with trophies, I said I could get a more favorable match up by trophy dropping. If I drop from master 1/champs to crystal, I guarantee my match ups are going to be more favorable on offense and defense both. I have no idea why you think loot penalty should be based on defenses. The only thing correct in your last post is the last sentence.

Exploiting is not necessarily che@ting. This isn't che@ting but its definitely an exploit. There's nothing wrong with it other than it seriously hinders your competition which for me and many others would kill all the fun in the game. I already get bored being at a th disadvantage war after war but still winning without a problem, I can't imagine how boring it'd be to always have the advantage.

And to anyone who thinks defenseless bases are easy 3 stars for th 3 or even th 5s...just imagine dealing with a maxed cc dragon or witches and a maxed valk with 135-150 lvl 3 troops. And then try having enough left to kill lvl 20+ heroes. And then wiping out the rest of the base in whatever time you have left. Nearly impossible.

Well with the air sweeper set to make life harder for air attackers.... (could be SC's nod at those who have been asking for dragons &/or Laloon nerf). The days of .5's and low defence bases dragging down the matchmaking may also be numbered. So that is something clan engineers will have to think about longterm.

There is no such thing as abusing the system.

It is called strategy, and clash of clans being a strategy game designing your base with a certain strategy in mind is what the game is all about.
