Walls or defenses?

yes, especially spash damage defenses. If you have extra gold and a free builder, upgrade some walls then upgrade a defense, that's what i did :)

both are good. Mortars are cheaper and quicker so if you're light on gold at the time go for them. I did mortars first but you could make an argument for both. Those are the two things to get maxed first though.

In general for upgrading stuff though you shouldn't have builders waiting around but you can easily upgrade walls and defenses without doing so. Just keep on building up your gold while you are waiting for an upgrade to finish. Then when the builder is free before you start the next upgrade put all your excess gold into the walls (always leave some for raid searched, spells etc though).

For example, I started a 2 million tesla upgrade yesterday. I had 4 million gold. When builder had become free I put 1.8 million into walls, then started the tesla upgrade. This left me 200,000 to start building up gold again. rinse and repeat.

Max splash, while upgrading inner walls to level 7. Don't bother upgrading outside walls to 7/8 until you are almost maxed in defence buildings. It takes the same number of level 4/5 wallbreakers to break levels 6 and 7 walls. Only upgrade the walls that will be attacked by infantry only (no wallbreakers) for now.

Ur inner walls. Cuz theres no point upgrading the outside layer of ur wall at this point cuz its just gonna get hit by wallbreakers so upgrade the inside ones. But yeah mortars first then walls is what i would do
