I usually stay in the gold leagues barching or gibarching but currently looning in crystal.
I started out in the 1700-1900 range bamming, and did pretty well. I could do 10-20k de per day depending on how much time I raided. I'm currently going up to crystal 1, master 3 or maybe higher to see what its like up there. It just seemed like I was searching to much for mediocre loot down in gold 2/1, but the elixer and gold were ripe for the taking.
Crystal League.
You can go to masters for more DE but its harder to take up there.
I suggest barching in crystal. Easy and fast :)

The higher you go in crystal the better the bonus. C3 I find has far too many maxed out th9's and 10's farming walls and heroes that will prey on your base anytime you have significant resources. C2-C1 is full of people looking to do just what you are doing and for what it's worth seem to be more willing to throw you a bone and give you a free shield as long as you aren't overflowing.
I'm using a mixed army that allows me to attack different types of bases. I'm using (200 troop space, camps upgrading) 8 Gi, 8 Wiz, 4 wbs, 40 barbs, 40 arch, 40 gobs. Also BK10, AQ4 going to 5 plus 4 spells.
That configuration allows me to loot collector bases wherever I see them, but it also gives me just enough muscle to reach the storages when I have to. I'm also looking for the 50% or the th snipe when I can as well. I'll target anything over 800 DE, that plus the C2-C1 winning bonus gets me to minimum 1K per raid. Now I won't necessarily attack a target with that amount either. If it is too heavily guarded I'll move on. None of my troops are upgraded to TH9 troop levels yet as I've been TH9 for less than a week (6 days), but as you can see by my lv5 AQ I've been putting in the work casually to gain enough DE to always keep her upgrading. I haven't boosted, this is all done through casual raiding.
