Every time I go in the paper, all I find is WHEAT, WHEAT , WHEAT, is that all anyone can sell! You really don't make that much off wheat, people need to sell better items! Butter, Cream, sugar and good vegitables! I'm sick of all the wheat.

Hey There,
People don't sell it due to the mark up they make off it, they sell a lot of it because the more crops you cut, the more axes/landeeds/saws etc you are likely to get.. As wheat takes the shortest amount of time its the clear winner in the cropping war on what to plant to get you little surprise.
I make quite a lot in saws/axes during the day from wheating, people won't sell cream, sugar, butter etc when the difference between time taken to make & cost made from selling is so poor. especially when they can be used to make ice creams, cakes etc which have a higher profit margin than selling ingredients individually :)
Yes it can be annoying when your specifically looking for something you need but 'Hay' ho thats just the way it goes *Thumbs Up*
Lol. That's funny! Marginally true. But funny all the same.
Im sure your own Stand is richly stocked with quality items. Yes?
I see frequent complaints about how the DD is not fun any more and people can't find what they want. But wonder really how much interesting stuff they sell in their own shops.
The DD is what we make it.
I have been shopping the DD extensively during this Visitor Event and making out like a bandit. And no, I haven't bought any wheat. Nor do I sell any wheat in my own shop.
There is a lot of good stuff in the DD despite so many wheat ads.
Its definitely a sellers market right now.
Should get better tomorrow.
I know Im probably one of the few who likes the wheat in the paper. And YES I sell wheat in my stand but its only when a Im close to leveling up and when I try to sell my good items to the neighborhood and someone snatches it up. Get over it COULD BE WORSE!
I will stop selling it when people stop buying it.
When theres a demand you supply, where theres supply you demand :)
Ever encroaching circle
Hmm, does this mean that you sell butter, cream, sugar, etc.? If so, wanna be my friend?! ;)
Oh look *points* tumbleweed.......
My Level 88 Farm is built on wheating, I sell 10s of thousands per day. Like my fellow wheaters said above, supply and demand. The demand is there so I will gladly fill my RSS with wheat while getting my axes, lems, bems, seems and mining tools all day long. And my followers enjoy the extras I toss in my RSS every few hours.
Try it, you'll like it I promise. :-D
I can't help but wonder if you sell butter, cream, sugar and good stuff...if so, great then you are helping the cause, but if not, then why not? (not meant in a snippy way, by-the-way, just a genuine curiosity--I don't sell those things because I generally don't have extra to sell)
I think I am actually going to INCREASE my wheat production now. It's sells good and some people who cant log on that often like going on and buying my 10 wheat for 5 coins.
There is a demand for it so I shall sell it.
Wheat is the new B&E! Some people, ok, lots of people post wheat as just a spot to park the sale flag (and to those of you seek and destroyers, it makes me crack up when you only buy from the end, I hide my ad well 😛😜) and fill their rss with lots of goodies. Doing this stops people just looking for a shop to raid. Pretty smart if you ask me 😏😏
With all the new land, of course we are wheating, we get free LEMs 😇
So I'm wondering why no response from op 😋
happy wheating...oops, I mean happy farming 😬🚜
I think we got spoiled after the original derby update: there were many high-point tasks for slow crops, and for the past couple of months the DD has actually had a good selection (of crops).
The most recent update appears to have reduced how frequently those crop tasks come up. So people are no longer growing huge amounts of slow crops. This was even apparent on Monday when there was no derby running.
Do you mean people try to buy the wheat that has the ad on it deliberately? Why?[/QUOTE]
Yes they do, I know several people that even admitted to it, they think it's funny and something to amuse themselves while shopping. I think the funniest part is, they have no clue they found it or missed....lol
when my shop is filled with wheat, I can spot a s&d easily... They keep me amused also 😏😇😬
happy farming 🚜🚜
Hi Carina, you have to go back to the beginning of hayday (😳 yes some of us have been playing for a loooooong time) when we only had a few machines and goods, to start with mainly eggs, bacon, milk and wheat, so what did people make and sell?
bacon and egg, the dd was full of it, you could get nothing else
I long for those days. I can't keep up with the bacon or eggs and on days when my barn is bursting, I'd love to cue up some B & E so I could release two bag of feed from that machine, but I never have enough. I'd like to say please please don't stop selling wheat. We need it for the new pasta machine and for bread for the sandwich machine and for soy sauce etc. When my fields are tied up with a crop task, I need your wheat.
Donna, Sparkles and a few others, you said what I have longed to say many times in the past when someone complained that the DD is full of whatever the complaint was, but never dared to because I didn't want to be taken wrong. What's in your RSS? Hmmmmmmmm.
Its quite easy, please let me explain 💐
back in the day (sorry, but I just had to use the term...lol), bacon and eggs filled the dd, they were quick to produce and sold at a great price, people used to complain constantly at the over abundance of B&E. So if you wanted your ad to stay in the paper for as long as possible, we would fill our rss with lovely goodies and then flag a crate of 10 B&E at full price. The odds were quite good they wouldn't sell, B&E were so readily available, if you really wanted to sell them, you would set the price at 10 to 15% discount 😏. So savvy shoppers would hit all the B&E shops and be rewarded with lots of lovely goodies. And I would get so annoyed when people bought my B&E because that took down my ad down too soon.... LOL
People complained so much about B&E, that is one of the reasons SC made adjustments to the DD.
But this was also before NH, towns, several new machines and the forum used to rock!!
I don't doubt that there are people that think it's funny. But I suspect that most of the people buying from the end are either: (1) think they're doing you a favor: they assume the ad is on the beginning and don't want to mess that up; or (2) scrolled through your entire store to see if there was anything more interesting, and then just bought wheat from the last few boxes that were on the screen.
Most people are lazier and/or clueless, not bothering to look at the end or trying to avoid your on the first item.
I find that I have much better luck putting the ad somewhere in the middle.
Having said all that: If you're serious about wheating then add at least 2000 spaces to your silo so that you can grow wheat until the next visitor asks for it. Then you don't need spend your time doing tedious things like stocking your shop.
Ok thanks for clarifuying people :)
I thought there was some hayday B&E going on (breaking an entering) which is where my confusion came from lol. I was thinking god we'll have S&G's before long (smash and grabs) or DBS (drive by stealing) was thinking hayday had turned into a ghetto! Lol.
I dont feel stupid in the slightest *whistles, looking around whispering between clenched teeth* "dont look at me, oooh look puppy" *runs*
Lol
This.
I mostly buy wheat. Don't like to grow my own, when it's so easy to buy. And if there's a bunch of bins with the same thing, I buy from the end. Not because I'm trying to be mean, but because that's where I am when I finish scrolling through the stand.
If you play on a tablet/iPad, you may not know how your RSS looks on a phone screen. It's one long row with only a few bins visible at a time, and might be a LOT of scrolling to get back to the beginning. So I buy from the end. I'm in a rush to check out the next stand, not trying to take out someone's ad.
Yeah, there really isn't a lot of variety in the DD depending on time of day. Chili peppers, soybeans are pretty scarce now. Carrots are rare. It's just a lot of wheat.
ROTFLOL! Thank you for reminding me about the practice of wheating. I asked my hood if anyone can spare 4 bolts and some said they couldn't help me because they upgraded their barns recently. After seeing your post, I planted wheat in about 60 fields and harvested them every 3mins to get 1 bolt, a few mallets, markers, axes, and saws in about 30 mins. I sold 10 wheat for 1 coin and they were bought in less than 5 mins.
I will continue to sell wheat until I get 3 more bolts because there's a demand for them at this price point.
Well this has sure been a fascinating read on hay day history and the evolution of the DD, I never knew any of this.
(I still wondering what is S&G).
*stands up
Hi my name is Tiax, and I'm a wheater. I first started wheating when I was just a lvl 12 I've been wheating for a long time now. I've even been known to get other's hooked on wheating by befriending them and buying all their wheat as well. my habit has grown to the point I can no longer keep up with my own consumption of the wheat. no only do I grow my own but I scour the paper and buy all the wheat I can hold for 10 coins or less per stack. then i go back and sell it to Greg I sell 10-20k a day to Greg. I only hope he's putting it good use.
I don't seek help for my addiction only acceptance among my fellow friends and wheaters.
Oh and by the way I love finding planks behind the wheat ads. Awesome.
There has been a lot more wheat than usual in the DD but I think you can blame the land expansion. More people are probably wheating for lems. Give it a little time and it will balance out. Wheaters are still gonna wheat but most everyone else will go back to selling products after they get bored with wheating. (apologies if I've offended anyone who considers wheating exciting :))
Hey Glinda,
do you mean S&G frm my post? i was trying to be funny lol as they were referring to B&E and in the law enforcement world that means breaking and entering, this is what i thought they meant (Hayday style) lol so i said as i thought it was that i was waiting for some S&G (smash & grabs) and DBS's (Drive by stealings) lol my dry whit sorry :)
I totally agree - everybody should make BREAD to sell! It would makes a whole lot more CENTS!
Lol! Your funny!
After reading all of these post the last few days its given me inspiration to (try) and do themed RSS, i was thinking about sacrificing some of my needs on the farm to do a Milk, Butter & Bacon day!?
Then maybe a honey day whereby i sell the honey comb, bees wax, honey, honey cakes, honey popcorn etc etc
Just a kooky thought that i thought might cheer people up especially if your lagging on said items ;)
Edit - you will be pleased to know that i make bread all the time, i wheat to my hearts content, make into bread and either sell or use the bread for burgers, but that then eats into my bacon supply :/
Au contraire ... I make coins hand over fist by selling wheat. Not so much in my RSS as I sell 10 for 1 coin, but the little people have a voracious appetite for wheat and buy hundreds at a time. Then there is the small fortune to be made from selling off (at full price) the drop items above and beyond what I need for myself.
I admit I rarely sell what you consider "better" items, but I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for your RSS in case you have butter, cream or sugar to spare.
this is dedicated to you all out there who miss the simple things in life that people don't sell much of anymore :)
and proof that its not just wheat sold. For you my fellow farmers my RSS today

bumping up due to spam in forum
 Wait, wait. We're all becoming breeders* now?! D'oh! Hope I'm not too late for the breading party!
*My iPad autocorrected "breAders" to "breeders". With all the autocorrecting it's doing, I think it's hinting I become a Wheatear breeder. XD
It's amazing, I have always sold my wheat 10 for 1 coin to get it sold quickly, but when you are wheating all your fields taking the time to lower the price is time consuming 😎 So I tried to just go bp and it's still flying off my shelves, soooo happy <doin the happy dance>. As for loading shops with lovely item, well, that is how I roll, I was never too interested in leveling up or mastering achievements and the only time I advertise is when I wheat. And I always sell at fp because I have so many friends that enjoy my shop too much (wink) you know who you are...lol.
Oh, I also found my first bot farm, sells wheat at 1 coin <yippie skippie>, so I started following it! seems they have programmed in a bit of a lag time to refill.... Sneaky little bots!
I never realized so many people don't bother growing wheat, so after reading all these posts, I say, wheat on my friends and let's stove to completely fill the dd with our lovely wheat!
happy farming 🚜🚜
I've never plant wheat since I got the strawberries (now I'm at level 48). I always buy them at the price of either 1 or 10 (and I'll never, ever buy the ones priced 36). I still plant the corns and carrots at times, but not for wheat. It's everywhere every time I open DD so I figured why should I bother planting it. I don't like wheating anyway, if I do I always soybeaning because soybeans sell fast too. And no, I've never taken the wheat task on the Derby.
It does surprise me though at how fast milk sells. My friends always complain about not getting enough milks for dairy but I have fifteen cows and I'm in fine grounds - I even sell it occasionally.
Hey super Cell
Here is an ideal....do not furnish the advertisement button to players who are under a certain level like maybe 40
Or have a week on and week off for advertisements....one week we don't get to use the private advertisement button and the next week we do....at least u could try this and see how it goes....
Dang paper is not worth opening up unless u want wheat
This probably needs to be posted in the ideas thread.
I disagree though as players need to be able to advertise to sell and earn coins.
Well, I hate to break it to you, but wheaters come in all shapes, sizes, colours...and levels. ;-)
I thought he meant that you remove the advertisement button, so that anything a level 40 or below level player sells, will automatically be advertised without consent. :saywhat:
My understanding also, but I don't think anyone at a low level would not advertise, because they are usually all about making coin. It's more the higher levels frantically wheating and Corning for lems to open the new land that is causing the DD to be full of wheat at the moment. Personally, I wish they would just sell it to Tilly and the gang of farm visitors.
I would be BEYOND THRILLED to sell all my wheat to the bOts, but for every time they ask me for wheat they have asked for (and been refused) saws and axes 10-12 times. If I have 2 bots at my farm, one wants saws and one wants axes EVERY FLIPPING TIME.
SC could take a lot of wheat out of the paper by changing up the balance of what the bots ask for. If the bots could ask more frequently for things from the silo than the barn, IMO the DD would come more into balance.
Agreed Perky
simply placing mining and land clear equipment on the same list as BEM SEM TEM and LEM
and maybe adding ore bars and jewelry to the list of the bots I'd love to have them stop asking for my shovels and isntead ask me for my diamonds rings. why yes little Greg person I will sell you 300 Diamonds rings at 150% max price during a visitor event. here you go.
Then any player under level 40 could not trade safely, since if you are trading it is always best to not have an ad in your shop to reduce the risk of snipers (meaning shoppers who are not trying to steal your trade but who happen along in the middle of the trade and buy the trade goods, often unknowingly).
If I was forced every time I put something in my shop to advertise, I would hate that. I will sometimes fill my shop and not advertise, so that my neighbors can drop by. Other times I could have 4-5 ads up. To advertise or not is a strategic choice that helps me play my game. Why limit that choice to over level 40 players?
Yeah I don't get this either. There is a cool down period so that all a lower level player would have to do is put the wheat up first, and then put up everything else. There is no advertising privately option. You advertise or you don't. I can't see how punishing lower levels would change the paper. Chances are they don't even know about wheating unless they are forum members. It takes a little while for players to figure out wheating. Before they do, they sell lots of stuff. Like others have said. It's not the lower levels selling wheat.
I stopped advertising way before I was at level 40, I've been playing this game for quite a long time, achievements and leveling up was not important to me. I have helped lots lower level players get through their TT, Captains, clear land and help them with much needed coins. I started playing this way right around level 22, so if I was forced to advertise back then, I would not have been able to help the people I did. My rss has always been filled with premium items, I did not need to advertise, my rss did not stay full for long....lol I just recently started to focus more on achievements and I barely just broke 1k in advertising. So, I'm a new wheater, lots of ads and wheat flies off the shelves, wheating is my new obsession and I will stop when people stop buying...lol
do you even realize how many people don't grow their own wheat because it's so readily available! Yesssssss!!
happy wheating🚜🚜🚜🚜
Ditto. What is the reasoning and benefits behind that idea? Why shouldn't players under lvl 40 (or whatever level you decide) NOT have a choice? They are playing the game the same as "higher" level players and should have the same options. If taking that option away from them, then why not take it away from every player? What would happen to the dd? Your trades? See the problem? I'm afraid more than sem trade items would be lost. Just my humble opinion.
When I find a new lvl 7 I always follow them as they are more likely to put up BEM and SEM sometimes even at base price. it's not the under 40 people that have 200+ stalls of wheat for a penny. although I follow those as well. 2000 wheat for 200 coins sells for 3600 to Greg. I'll take that deal any day.
EXCUSSSSSSSSE me they advertise or they don't (which is a private sale to ther friends) No it's not the lower level selling wheat but if they did a week advertise and a week not advertising...jeezzz that would help player that can fill their boats or fill the townies wants, etc..etc... I just thought I'd was a good idea....but who am I....nobody. They will never do that...they just keep adding to the game!!!
All ideas are always welcomed, even the worst one on the list. Maybe SC should wipe out your current progress and make you start the game all over again whenever they decided to implement your brilliant idea. I'm positive over 90% of the new players will delete HD before reaching level 10.
Well, that's a lot of hate for this idea. I think it's an interesting one. What if there was no way of taking out the advertisement. If you sold something, it would go in the paper every five minutes.. The same should be for all levels though. Noone would be able to trade or sell to their neighbors only. I think it would probably improve the paper quite a bit.. No more raiding, it wouldn't exist..
The old players would hate it of course because they are used to how it is now.. But what if you just started playing? Would you hate it? Well, I guess there would come a time for everybody when you would want to sell something to your friend and it wouldn't be nice not to be able to do so. But if you never had that option, you would just view the rss as a place to sell in the paper. Not a place to sell to your friends like it is now.
Thanks Perky, you took me right back to that first sale in the tutorial, wondering if anyone would ever buy the ear of corn, then YESSSS!!! Such a sweet moment.
When I am shopping the DD I keep a special eye out for players under level 10, and always buy their stuff, whatever it is. Maybe they are having that fond moment too?
i wouldn't mind that one bit! And I'm 60!
lol. I am also level 80...which is probably what you were talking about when you said "old players"
I used to put my stuff in the paper thinking well someone will buy it but if I should happen to need some more of these later on, someone else will be selling some.
It was like the DD was this big bank of goods where I could make deposits or withdrawals.
It was a great arrangement!
Well I still make a lot of "deposits" of premium goods. But the bank has gotten pretty stingy about me withdrawing anything worthwhile.
I was never a fan of the neighbourhoods and created my own only to play the Derby. I know lots of people love their NHs so I dont criticize.
And I never trade.
People can raid my shop all they like.
I like the Global neighbourhood idea.
And it would be awesome if everyone put their extras in the DD because let's face it, we all have limits to our barn and silo space.
I will stop selling wheat the day they stop giving me expansion items. I can't keep wheat in my store, it sells faster then I can supply it.
There has been another discussion going on for the past few days on this topic in a different subforum. It is here, if you are interested: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...-eggs%21/page3
I've actually started selling more wheat since these threads as I suddenly realized my silo is half empty. But I'm not a pure-blood certified wheater as I do I mix in in other stuff most of the time. At my lvl, still need coins.
*stands up
Hi my name is Drdolittle, and I am a wheater. I started wheating a long time ago. Now when I have lots of coins I buy from lower level HayDayers ...(OMG) my iPad suggested "HayDayer" as a word...back to my story...at 36 and sell it at 1. I now have followers who stalk my shop to buy wheat at 1...brilliant. I grow it, harvest it, buy it, and sell it. Today I got 2 duct tapes in addition to other bonus items and as such can not seem to stop.
I usually only play for 10-15 minutes stretches so I can't wheat enough to pay the bills
LOL ;);)
This gem should definitely go in the "You know you've been playing Hay Day too long when" thread!
I need to sell some wheat. Thanks
I do not see a problem with everyone advertising. Why should lower levels be restricted?
Exactly! Although I enjoy the game, my main reason for playing is so I can help my sister who introduced me to the game. Now that our level gap is closing we swap large quantities of items between us that I would not want advertised for strangers who I have no desire to help to swoop in on. I know that once it is in my RSS, it is no longer my property but the only reason I put anything other than wheat and unwanted drop items in my RSS is for the benefit of my sister or those that are helpful to me. Selfish perhaps, but it is what it is.
I have actually started BUYING wheat.
Im kind of burned out with this derby and Global Truck Event that bombed and the DD that was just awful last week so not really as IN to this game as before.
Before I used to grow it all myself.
AND I just selected a lettuce task.
I have space for about 1700 wheat easily, so, thank you wheat sellers!
Every time a visitor comes by for wheat I am back to the DD, looking for cheap wheat to refill silo.
Visitors pay better than default so I will buy wheat at no more than 10 for 10 and still make a profit.
Might as well put all that space in my silo to good use after I put so much into expanding it.
If I see wheat at 10 for 1, I check out the farm first to be sure it's not a bot farm.
So, not as many tools and EMs coming in right now, but right now......I don't really care.
All other production is as normal.
And the DD is not bad at all this morning.
That is quite an impressive silo you have! I am working hard to expand mine but it is slow going. I have 1,550 spaces, which means I have room for about 700 wheat.
If you ever find my farm, I sell 10 for 1 and you will often find drop items thrown in for good measure.
I will put on the kettle and await your arrival ;)
